P1.Lt yhouse Fun minim successful The first two special fund raising events for the 11:1:; summer season at l'uron Country Playhouse have both proved to be unqualified successes. For the 200 diners who at- tended the sumptuous Italian feast at Tony's Ban- quet Hall in London on April 16, the meal truly defied description. Seven superbly prepared Italian dishes tan- talized the eye and utterly overwhelmed the taste bud - A very special treat on that evening was the presence of Aggie Cekuta whose voice thrilled everyone. Aggie, it will be remembered, has appeared in several Playhouse produc- tions including The Music Man as well as in Stratford's The Mikado. Aggie's accompanist and arranger for the evening was Michael Mulrooney who will be in residence as the Music Director for all three musicals to be mounted on the new Playhouse II stage. The evening's festivities were co-ordinated by HCP Board Member Mrs. Audrey Harris of Komoka. The second fund raiser was the spectacular "Spotlight on Fashion held May 4 at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter. The magnificent ar- ray of women's fashions from The Merry Rags Bouti- que of Grand Bend, men's fashions from both Bud Gowan and Ray Davis of London, shoes by Copper - fields of London and ac- cessories by Anstett Jewellers of Exeter truly amazed the 11au.''ence members who crowded the arena. To top off the even- ing's entertainment was the very special choreography by Tracy O'Neill. Additional thanks also go to Silvanas of London for hair design, to Skintreet of London for make-up and to Country Flowers of Exeter for floral arrangements and balloons. The Fashion Show was co- ordinated by another HCP Board Member, Mrs. Marie Homans of Grand Bend. Other special events plan- ned for the coming months are: Monte Carlo Night on June 4, a men's golf tourna- ment to be played at the BSC JOCKEY SERVICE Country Gold & Rock ®n' DISCO, POLKAS, WALTZES GOOD RECORDED MUSIC FOR WEDDINGS, DANCES.
