Society
Meets
The Huronia Branch of the
Ontario Humane Society
held a board meeting on
April 11, at the Goderich Vet.
Clinic.
Debbie Price gave a report
on the bake sale held in Kin-
cardine on April 9, the pro-
ceeds of which are to go to
the shelter fund.
Two delegates were
chosen to represent the
Huronia branch at the an-
nual meeting of the Ontario
Humane Society. This
meeting will also include a
discussion of the Price
Waterhouse Report.
The next business discuss-
ed was the search for
suitable land in nearby
municipalities on which to
build a shelter. A committee
was formed to view possible
sites and to continue looking
for a donation of suitable
land for the shelter.
A deadline of June 30 was
set for the amateur photo
contest with a possible
display of the entries at the
Goderich Arts Festival.
It was decided that there
should be two categories
black and white snapshots
and color snapshots, with
prizes for first, second and
third in each division.
The rnain subject of the
snapshots should be an
animal and the entry fee will
be $1.00 per snapshot. If en-
trants wish their photos
returned they must enclose a
stamped self-addressed
envelope.
Entries may be mailed to
the Humane Society at P.O.
Box 282, Goderich.
It was agreed that a flea
market would be held in
Goderich on either May 14 or
21. Donations are to be drop-
ped off on the day of the sale.
All proceeds from this sale to
go to the shelter fund.
Finding volunteers for the
position of agent was
discussed. A committee was
set up to be responsible for
contacting interested parties
who respond to adver-
tisements.
The next board meeting
was set for May 3, at the
Wingham Town Hall.
