news
in spite of the inclement
weather, everyone at Huron -
view hopes you had a rfect
Easter hole r; -y.
Due to the fact that Good
Friday and Monday were
holidays, activity around
here was quiet.
Some residents went to be
with families while others
stayed here and did his or
her own thing.
Residents had a treat Sun-
day morning when each
breakfast tray had a colored
egg on it for everyone - a
very nice touch. Dinner was
excellent as the kitchen staff
prepared turkey with all the
trimmings and was much
appreciated.
Easter service was held in
the chapel with Reverend
Norman Pick in charge.
Elsie Henderson sang a love-
ly solo. Elsie and Mabel
Scott, in pleasing voice, sang
a duet in keeping with the
Easter tradition. The choir
sang an anthem and Frank
Bisset presided at the organ.
Flowers in the chapel were
placed there through the
thoughtfulness of Sarah
Carter, Ida Durnin,
Margaret McQueen and
Rhoda McKercher.
Through the kindness of
the Clinton Christian
Reformed Church, every
resident received an Easter
Card.
Sunday evening, several
residents gathered around
the piano on Ground Center
for a great singsong. George
Cowan, who has an excellent
tenor voice, led the group in
singing and Frank Bisset
assisted at the piano.
Monday afternoon
residents attended a pro-
gram in the chapel when
Evangelist Lional Reeves
and his wife Iris presented a
concert in music and song.
In the evening there was
music appreciation night
with Bruce Cookson and a
few more residents attend-
ed.
Tuesday morning, a
photographer from the Clin-
ton News -Record took pic-
tures of the residents while
they were doing exercises.
In the afternoon they
gather. .; in the activity
room to view slides of
Hawaii. Mr. and'Mrs. Cecil
Elliott, who recently visited
the beautiful Islands of
Hawaii, generously shared
their picturesque slides and
music with us. While Cecil
showed the slides, Lois gave
an interesting and descrip-
tive talk on each one.
Huronview extends a very
sincere thank you to the
members of Royal Canadian
Legion, Seaforth Branch 156
for their very generous dona-
tion towards the purchase of
a new van for Huronview.
Wednesday afternoon
there was successful exer-
cise session to music and
there was a good turnout of
ladies. They have really
caught on to the Bird Dance
which is quite popular here.
