She along with all the students in the Grade 2 class at Blyth Public School were all set for Easter when the News -Record visited them last Thursday. Easter meant many things to the youngsters. For Craig Roulston it was a time for his family to get tugeihei aand "do a bunch of things." Dannielle McDougall's family was going to celebrate with a turkey or ham supper. And everyone was set for a visit from the Easter Bunny. Chris Mason was going to look under the couch for his bit treat, Robert Mason was hoping to get a big egg. Kann Lee was sure she'd find some chocolate behind a chair and Chris Heard said the hiding spot was under the bed. Mike McNichol was set to get a surprise on Easter morning. Easter also meant special Sunday School classes for manv of the children and S 11 Andrea Henry was go , l to make Easter bunnys. For Tammy Noble and Heidi Scrimgeour Easter meant, "Jesus rose from the dead." Sarah Allan said, "He died on the cross because two other men died." Craig said that Easter meant that, ..Jesus rose from the dead and went to Blyth Softball Committee meet The first meeting of the Blyth Softball Committee was held on Tuesday, March 29 at the Blyth Arena. There was a large turnout of in- terested parents. The minutes were read and adopted followed with the financial report. As there was no president it was suggested that there be a committee formed with one person as a contact person. The following people were chosen Brenda Books, Emmely Phillips, Dave Medd, Bob Szuz, Brian Allen, Brenda McDonald, Garth Walden and Joan l.iebold as contact person. About 300 crests were purchased for the winning teams, who will play in tournaments this year. The crests have no year on them so that they can be used for any year. The ball teams will be joining the Tri -County League with the younger boys and girls 6 - 9 years old playing House League against Londesboro. There will be a short com- edy one and two travel films and a story on documentary picture. Everyone is welcome to at- tend. Heritage Cooking The Blyth If Heritage Cooks met on March 29. We opened with the 4-H Pledge. We then discussed the business. Elva talked about the dif- ferent foods of Italy. Then we went into the kitchen and prepared the applie pie and stuffed sgtfash. After return- ing to the table, Eunice discussed the different Greek foods. Everybody then sampled the apple pie, stuffed squash and the already made an- tipasto. We closed the meeting with the 4-H motto. Lost Heir At Lost Heir on Wednes- day night there were four tables playing. The winners were: high lady, Dorothy Daer; high man, Gorden Murrey; low lady, Janet Laurie; low man, Ken McDougall. Everyone is welcome to Lost Heir next Wednesday night. WINGHAM - Workers at the Stanley Door Systems plant have voted to accept a new contract with the coin r •, ny and end their ree-day strike. The contract, hammered out during a meeting bet- ween union and management officials provides for a general wage increase of $1.75 per hour over three years, retroactive to June 1,1982.
