Little Jessica, the daughter of Steve and Maria Kochis of Londesboro made her world debut at the Clinton hospital on that date and was presented with a flower on behalf the Clinton Guides. The World Day of Prayer will be held in Trinity Anglican Church on March 4 at 2:30 p.m. Visiting at the home of Mrs. Robert Procter on Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mayberry, Marilyn, Kimberley and Daryl of Londesboro, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Procter, Karen and Kevin and Mrs. Howard Zettler of Chepstow, Marjory Procter of Sarnia spent a couple of days last week with her mother Mrs. Robert Procter. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Minick, Edwin, Cathy and .Jennifer of Kitchener and David Hanna of North Bat- tleford, Saskatchewan, who is at present working in Sim- coc, spent the weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hanna and on Saturday evening all attend- ed the 50th wedding annive' - sary of Mr. and Mrs. David Lennox, Listowel in the Listowel Legion. Mr. Lennox is a brother of Mrs. Hanna. Mrs. Lois Warwick of Glencoe spent a few days with her sister-in-law Mrs. Laura Johnston. Mrs. Hazel Procter is a pa- tient in the University Hospital, London. Vincent Makas and Miss Patricia Keith of London spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler. Trudy Taylor, Cindy Campbell and Lynn Haines returned home on Friday from a week's vacation to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mrs. Mark Armstrong is now a resident at the Pinecrest Nursing Home, I,ucknow. Blyth 1 4H The second meeting of the Blyth 1 4-H Club entitled On- tario's Heritage was held on February 22 at Eunice Emke's. The roll call was answered by six members. The officers are: Presi- dent - Elaine Brown; Vice AUTOMOBILE President - Cathy Mahon; press reporter and secretary - revolving. The topics of the second meeting were Scandinavian, German and Mennonite cooking. We all sampled the Deli sandwiches, Potato Pancakes, Peach Kuchen and Celery Soup, represen- ting the countries we studied. The next meeting will be held on March 1. Euchre There were 10 tables of euchre played on Feb. i. The winners were: high lady, Mable McAdam of Clinton; high gent, Pearl Cummings of Clinton, play- ing as man; low lady, Lorra Cook; low gent, Len Shor- brook; ladies lone hands, Ella Richmond; men's lone hands, Wilford Shortreed of Walton; special, Jane Glousher of Auburn. the SES ppy Ga The Happy Gang Seniors held a pot luck •'inner on Feb. L3 with a large number attending. After dinner a short business meeting was held and a thank you note was read from Elsie Shaddick for sympathies extended on the loss of her daughter-in-law Nancy. It was agreed to invite Blyth Swinging Seniors to March 30 meeting at 1:30 p.m. Bob and Audrey Thompson, Lorne and Addie Hunking are in charge of the entertainment. Lunch convenors are Jake and Mary McDougall and Isabel Airdrie. Mr. Hewitt of London met on Tuesday with 10 members at the home of Beth Knox with explanations on the New Horizons Grant. After the meeting seven tables of cards were played. Winners were: ladies' high, Dora Shobbrook; lone hands, Verna Glazier; low, Kay Konarski; men's high, Jean Scott (playing as a man) ; low hands Jake McDougall; lone hands, Margaret Good (playing as a man) . Shuffle board Feb. 23 winners were: ladies' high, Vietta Hoggart; 2nd high, Clara Riley; low, Dora Shobbrook; 2nd low, Audrey Thompson; high man, Reg Lawson; 2nd high, Watt Reid; low, Lorne Hunk- ing; 2nd low, Bob Thompson. Play off winners were Reg Lawson and Dora Shob- brook; low, Bob Thompson and Clara Riley. W.1. Cards At WI cards there were six tables in play on February 25. Winners were: ladies' high, Stella Adams; lone hands, Alice Buchanan; low, Betty Hulley; men's high, Bob Thompson; lone hands, Les Reid; low, Vietta Hog- gart (playing as a man). In charge were Addie and Lorne Hunking. Cards will be played again in three weeks, March 18 - Notice the change of date. United Church Sunday morning greeters were Jack Lee and Lorne Hunking, ushers were Kathy Kennedy, Deanna Lyon, Kerri Shepherd and Crystal Whyte. Junior teachers were Jane Swan and June Fothergill. Londesboro 111 4-11 The second Londesboro 111, 4-11 meeting was held at the home of Helen Kolkrnan February 21st. Members uiade celery soup, Deli Special, Potato Pancakes and Dutch Peach Kuchen. While the food was cooking the meeting was held then members tested the food. It Neigh orly Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Radford on the death of her father Wm. Treble, age 72, of Col- borne Township. He died in Goderich Hospital Feb. 24. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lee on a new Grandson Ryan, born on Feb. 22 in Kitchener Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lee, Blyth, a brother for Christopher and Jason. Mrs. Cliff Shobbrook was admitted to Wingham hospital on Feb. 22 with phlebitis. Glad to report Clare Vin- cent returned home on Fri- day from Clinton hospital. Doug Vincent has purchas- ed the house from Sam Doherty, Concession 9, Lot 31 Hullett and moved in on the weekend. Florence Cartwright and John attended the Detroit - Montreal Hockey game in Detroit Sunday going by bus sponsored by Clinton Minor Hockey. Mrs. Jerry Smith and Michael of Kincardine visited on Friday with her Parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob e S Burns. Visiting on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Saunder- cock were his mother Mrs. Laura Saundercock, Mr. and Mrs. John Saundercock and Lisa of Woodstock, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Peck, Kelly and Christopher of Ailsa Craig, honouring Cliff on his birth- day. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Allen and Colleen Scruton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jackson, Brian and Sandra at Ridgetown. Karin Schacht of London spent the weekend with Elizabeth Swan, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ken Schacht visited on Sunday at the manse. The W.I. Education meeting will be held March 9 at 8 p.m. and Richard Lobb will be the guest speaker. Anyone wishing to bring an antique, Mr. Lobb will evaluate them. Everyone is also invited to bring a guest. Friday evening visitors with Mrs. Joe Shaddick were John Shaddick, Dan and Paul of Goderich and Debbie of Toronto. Another successful euchre party held Twelve tables were in play at the weekly euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall on February 23. Winners Were: high lady, Mrs. Janisa Coultes; low lady, Mrs. Bert Johnston; novelty lady, Mrs. Garner Nicholson; most lone hands lady, Mrs. Agnes Caskanette; high man, William Black; low man, William Gow; novelty man, Herb Clayton; most lone hands, man -Wilfred Caslick.
