In the first game Londesboro played Rockwood and carne out vic- torious with a 21-4 score. Neustadt fell prey at the hands of Londesboro 21-5 and Seaforth tried bravely to defeat them but were stop- ped by the high flyers of Londesboro 21-7. Unfor- tunately time ran out in the fourth game and Blyth slip- ped past Londesboro 16-11. With three previous wins Londesboro went into the championship match against the Olympic team from Dublin known as Paratch E.K.'s Blue Machines but their size and clumsiness led them to defeat from the team of coach Scott Millar, assistant coach Dave Over- boe and first line squad of John E. Lawson, Ron Nesbitt, Cheryl Bromley, Russell Nesbitt, Donnie Allan, Scott Millar and spares Bob steam Jamieson, Laurel Duizer, Brenda Nesbitt, Sandy Carter, Ron Mason, Scott Overboe and the faithful supporters Helen Kolkman, Robert Adams, Theresea Overboe, Penny Overboe. All welcome on February 9 at 8 p.m. Hullett Council At the regular meeting of the Hullett Township council held on February 1 it was motioned to increase Chamney Sanitation's salary to $300 per month from the previous salary of $250. The contract will run for two years, 1983 and 1984. In other business council decided to instruct Clerk Harry Lear to prepare a bylaw authorizing the opening of Anthony's Lane from Highway 4 to Silver Street. A section of land in that area has changed hands and there is interest in building on the street. Anthony's Lane has to be opened to provide an outlet for incoming and outgoing traffic. Council also gave a $25 grant per pupil for three pupils frori' anuary to June to the Mental y Handicapped Association for Goderich and District. ATTENTION: Newlyweds To Be! The U.C.W. had several quilts showing their work displayed by Helen Lee and Betty Hulley. Some are for sale. Rev. Swan had a memorian for John Mason, Earl Gaunt, Joyce Kennedy, Ted Bunking, Isabella Stewart, Leonard Caldwell and Brad Kennedy. The session report by Margaret Whyte showed seven memorian, four bap- tisms, six received by confir- mation, 11 removed by transfer. Jack Tamblyn was chairman of membership. The worship and music com- mittee was headed by Gor- don Shobbrook; Sacrament isplay quit committee, Reg Lawson; Congregation and Life, Bert Lyon. The Sunday school report given by Nick Whyte showed an average atten- dance of 90. Marguerite Ann East, 73, of RR 4 Clinton is survived by her husband James; daughters Kathleen Hesselwood of Blyth and I.illian Evans of Clinton; and sons Jack, Harold, Carl and Charlie all of Hullett Township. She is also survived by one sister, Fanny Marriot of Grand Bend and 25 grand- children and 19 great- grandchildren. Mrs. East was born March 28, 1909 in Bosanquet Township. She married James East on June 2, 1926 in Clinton. Funeral services were held on February 8 at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Horne in Clinton.
