The Anglican Church
Women of St. James'
Anglican Church in Mid-
dleton met l,::st Thursday
evening at the home of
Audrey Middleton.
Lois Wise read the
scripture. Carol Wammes
read the Meditation and
Vera Miller read the minutes
of the last meeting. Delores
Dutut presented the
treasurer's report and the
annual report which proved
the ladies hada busy year.
Estelle Wise thanked the
ladies for quilting a crib quilt
for her granddaughter Erin.
Delores also thanked the
ladies for corning to do the
quilt and to have it finished
in one day. Audrey Mid-
dleton thanked the lathes on
Don's behalf for his
Christmas gift for putting on
the furnace each Sunday as
needed. Audrey also thanked
the ladies on behalf of the
Merner family for their
cards.
Blanche Deeves gave her
card report and read a thank
you note from Mrs. Reynolds
for her flowers, cards and
prayers. Audrey read a
letter from Yoshiko Nonasha
of Japan a recent Prayer
Partner and also read one
from the new prayer partner
Rev. and Mrs. Bachmann of
the far North. Vera Miller
read the correspondence
including a thank you from
Sarah Stacey and a thank
you letter from The Right
Reverend '.ishop Townshend
and his wife Kathleen and a
letter from Mrs. Marjorie
Vere.
The group agreed to assist
Mrs. Vere in her work at
Heather Gardens.
Mrs. Wain nes task ►; for
new business suggestions.
Ideas included a bake sale in
July, a cook book and bus
trips.
Pennies rolled are to be
brought in at February
meeting.

Morning Prayer was held
in St. James' with The Rev.
W.R. Craven in charge. Mrs.
Lynda Steenstra read the
second lesson. A letter was
read from Mr. Edw ,.I Scott,
Primate of the Anglican
Church in Canada.

Welsh received the offering.
Edward and Lois Wise,
lanche and Edward Deeves
along with 22 ladies and
gentlemen travelled to
Kitchener on `;,turday to a
smorgasbord dinner and
listen to and see The Carlton
Show Band. This band only
appears in the area once a
year, they will be I. : ek next
year, the third Saturday in
January. There were 1645
people in attendance.
Visiitors with the Deeves
this week have been Marion
and Jack Smith of
Dungannon and ;rill Smith,
the occasion was the Smith's
42nd wedding anniversary.

St. Andrew's Unit II met
January 12 at home of
Kathleen Siertsema. Carol

Porter had devotions.
After the business portion
of the meeting Jean Dunn
and Kathleen Siertsema
presented the course "More
Cents than Dollars" put out
by Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture. Those present
were able to sample four
different dishes prepared
from the course.

the Senior Choir sang. Rev.
Bechtel led the service and
harry Rutledge and Deb
Schloendorf received the
offering.
This Sunday the service
will be at 1 p.m. followed by
the Annual Congregational
meeting.
