A new record was set by Steve Corbett in the60- yard dash. Tina Walker and Scott Miller also set records. Still in sports, on Tuesday the Junior and Senior girls' volleyball teams travelled to Stratford to play. Scores. were unavailable at press time. Curling This coming Friday the C.H.S.S. curling team will be travelling to Teeswater to compete in a tournament. In past years the C.H.S.S. curling team has been a strong one so let's hope this year is no different. On Monday, January 10, the Grade 8 students from the surrounding public school's attended an open house at C.H.S.S. The open house, while not as formal as the orientation which takes place in June, gave the students and their parents a chance to learn the layout of the school and meet mem- bers of the school ad- ministration. Friday, January 14 is the last day for senior students to order their grad pictures. The photographer will arrive at the school around noon and will be taking last minute orders. The photos cost $4.00 each. Huron Cup races set The 1983 Huron Cup snowmobile races start Saturday and Sunday, January 15 and 16 at Hully Gully. This double header weekend will begin with the O.S.R.F. sanctioned drag races on Saturday, featuring amateur stock and modified classes. Race action continues on Sunday with the Yamaha Sno Cross which includes four - Stock Snowmobile classes, one - Muscle class and two - three-wheeler classes. Registration is at 9 a.m. with racing beginning at ,loon both days at Hully Gully. All Snowmobilers and A.T.V. owners are invited to participate as the program is set up to accommodate both the experienced and novice competitors. Trophies and cash will be awarded.
