More than 125 million
people across the world saw
the picture of Wat Webster of
Clinton during telecast of the

The curtain rang down on
the last act of the centennial
year of St. James Anglican
Church in Middleton last
Sunday, with the dedication
of two memorial plaques.
The first plaque dedicated
was to the memory of
Fredrick Middleton, by his
wife Muriel and children. His
whole life was spent close to
the church, literally and
figuratively.
The second plaque was
dedicated to the men who
built the house of God and to
their successors who
maintained it.

One hears a good deal
today about the dropping of
salaries, especially
teachers' salaries, as they
are paid by all the people,
and in sone eases such
salaries ve' been dropped
with a vengeance. Some
teachers with experience
have accepted positions at
salaried well under $511.
A few years ago every
teacher of any little country
school was asking and
receiving $1,01111, but perhaps
the teachers were no more to
blame for this than the
trustees, as they gave large
salaries in order to take
advantage of the govern-
ment grant, and in some
cases, so it is said, the
teacher agreed to spend a
part of his salary in school
improvements.

Mr. F.R. Munro BA
returned home of Auburn
from Winnipeg last week.
Frank is the only Auburn boy
who ever took a Varsity
degree and it is with
pleasure we learn that he is
still keeping up his good
reputation in the West.
You can't lose you fountain
pen. If it is a Waterman's
Ideal Fountain Pen fitted
with a clip -cap. The clip -cap
is a neat piece of springy
steel attached at one end of
the cap of the pen, the other
end being pressed snugly
against the barrel of the /
spring. It holds in much the
same way as a clothes pin
and will keep the pen where
it is put. See us about it if
interested at the W.D. Fair
Co., often cheapest - always
best.
