The senior choir with Mrs. Belva Fuss at the organ led the ministry of music and Jim Parsons, John McAllister, David Rowcliffe and Randy Parker were the ushers. Margaret Cole greeted the worshippers. Announcement was made of the Bible Study on The Parables of Jesus beginning Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. and that next Sunday even- ing the film Getting The Word Around would be shown at the Fellowship Evening. At the United Church Of- ficial ;oard Meeting on Wednesday evening announcement was made rofit increase that the Annual Congrega- tional Meeting and Family Night would be held on January 26 beginning with a Pot Luck Supper at 6:30 p.m. The financial report for 1982 showed a remarkable increase and the proposed 1983 budget was presented and passed for presentation at the annual meeting. Rev. Stanley McDonald conducted worship services at the Queensway Nursing Home last week. Neil Regan was high bowler at the Coun- try Bowling Lanes in Zurich. Staff and residents extend their sympathy to the family of the late Mrs. Vivian Alder- son. Miss Aleeta Kats visited her father Mr. John Kats of Exeter, and enjoyed dinner with him. Mrs. Fred Boa was in charge of the worship. Mrs. Helen Roberts assisted reading the scripture. Mrs. Brintnell read the purpose of United Church Women followed by a poen. It was decided Unit 3 would hold a Baza.:;r in Noveranber. Mrs. Roberts read from The Mandate about the Grose family who are in Kenya. Mrs. Loretta Riley took the Study on Southern Pacific Islands. It was decided to com- mence winter meetings at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Brintnell clos- ed the meeting with prayer. A contest was conducted by Mrs. J. Brintnell. Hostesses were Mrs. Loretta Riley and Mrs. Sarah Dick. Humanitarian Committee to Hold Euchre Noble Grand Mrs. Margaret Consitt presided for the meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge assisted by Vice Grand Mrs. Margaret Upshall. The Charter of the Lodge was draped in memory of two departed brothers and one sister, former members of Grand Lodge and the Rebekah Assembly. The Humanitarian Ser- vices Committee is holding a euchre party in the local hall on January 12th, everyone is welcome. A card of thanks also several Christmas cards were received. Mrs. Dorothy Corbett, Treasurer, gave the financial report. Lunch was served by Mrs. Hazel Corbett, Mrs. Bonnie Upshall, Mrs. Lois Jones, and Mrs. Annie Reid. Kinsmen Club dbate The Hensall Kinsmen Club wish to announce the win- ners of the 150 Club r --raw. They are as follows: winners of $25 were Dave Ingram, Tom Barry, Paul Tirchie, Larry McLean, Russell Fischer, Bill Carlile, Lin,:.: Reid, Cecil McKee, Jack Aikenhead, Mark Consitt, Pete and Donna Allan, and Dan McClinchey. Lorne Taylor was the ':`,'li winner. Norma t ockwell was the $1 la winner and Leonard Lovell was the grand prize winner of it. The Hensel! Kinsmen Club also wish to announce a Christmas donation off $200 to the Huron County Children's Services Association and a $100 donation to the Senior Citizens of Hennsall. U.C.W. hear study Unit IV of the U.C.W. of Hensall United Church met January 6 with Mrs. Nan Britton presiding. She open- ed the meeting with a prayer followed by singing a hymn with Mrs. Myrtle Sherritt at the piano. A "Welcome" was given to four new members, who have joined the group. A brief Memorial Service then took place in memory of Mrs. Eva Thompson and Mrs. Olive Horton former valued members off the Unit IV who died this past year. Mrs. Britton gave a report of the U.C.W. executive meeting held recently. She said the World Day of Prayer is to be held March 4 in Hensall United Church. The Congregational Pot Luck Supper and meeting will be Yield January 26 at 6:30 p.m. The Huron Perth Presbyterial will be held. this year on January 24 in Nor- thside United Church, Seaforth. Mrs. Vera Lemmon took the offering. Fifty-eight visits were 'made to sick and shut-ins by the group during the past month. The study was presented by Mrs. Britton and she spoke about the South Pacific Islands. She said the United Church had brought four ministers recently from these islands to Canada to in- form people about their Christian way of life and their people. South Huron Youth For Christ South Huron Youth for Christ held a very successful Rally on January 8 at Brucefield Centennial School. This was well attend- ed as it featured Family and Talent Night, with different churches in the area taking part. Bob Heywood was the director in charge. Quiz time followed with three teams, from Exeter, Zurich and the i:.., yffieid- Goderich area. They quizzed from 1st Timothy Chapter 3. Exeter and Zurich tie in the score. Mrs. Kevin Parker sang a solo and the Bayfield area group put on two skits. Ron Westlake and Allison Dunn played the parts in the first skit. The second skit had Ron Westlake and Bob Dunn taking the lead parts. Mr. Ted Dunn sang two solos and Sharon Dykeman assisted by her mother from Exeter brought a duet. From the Church of God in Grand Bend, Laura Campbell and Lori Vincent played a duet. ob Dysktra displayed a col- lection off his Art Works. A group of young people from Exeter Pentecostal Church under their Youth Pastor Dwayne McLean put on a Drama portraying Pastor McLean and Dave Tigani acted out a skit.
