TReaMEETINCe.-Tbe re -opening ser-
vices of the Bethesda Methodist
church were held on Sueda-er and Mon -
clay last. Rev. B. L. Hutton, of Cen-
tralia, preached two able sermons on
Sunday morning and evening, while
Rev. C. W. Brown, of Exeter address-
ed a mass meeting in the afternoon.
On Monday evening a, tea meeting
was held. It was a genuine Country
tea, with a liberal supply of eatehlee,
including all kinds. of fowl. The
ladies acquitted themselves nobly.
The platform meeting WAS also first
class. Addresses were given by Revs.
Ur. Long, Hensall; Martin, Exeter,
and Hutton, Centralia; while the
choir of the Hensall arethadist church
supplied the music. The pastor, Rev.
Mr. Sewett,conducted the proceedinsss,
in his usually happy manner. That
the affair was a success may be judged
by the amount of the proceeds, The
trustees asked for $300, a short time
ago, to pay for repairing 'nada to the
church. The proceeds of tea stool Sun-
day collections amounted to $85,
which together with private subscrip-
tions totalled $320.
