Rnpian.---On the lith suet, the House had been open to in- mates for six years, and the success of the institution is being demonstrated every day, and most of the prejudice against it leas died out. This is due,in part if not altogether, to the excellent management of Mr. and Mrs. French, who have demonstrated the possibility of making an institution of this kind comfortable and horselike to the full- est extent, Over 11,000 visitors have registered since the opening of the House ; on a holiday no less than 300 visitors have called, and it is a very common occurrence for 75 persons to call during an ordinary afternoon.
