There is a much 'more cheerful feel-
ing in &Hines of grain and in wheat: '
there has been already a moderately
large advance, extending to about two
cents a bushel for the week. Manitoba 1
wheat, too, continues to advance, and
large quantities have already been ta-
ken for export. There is no export
business yet in Ontario wheat for
new orders, although some have old
orders at higher prices, which they
have recently been filling at good
profits.

A fly in your eye? :sae: Weil you
are luCky indeed, for Exeter is infest-
ed with a plague of green flies. The
sunny warm weather has hatched
them out in uncountable millious, and
the es of wheelmen and drivers of
vehicles are made miserable. The lie-
tleminged pests are aphides. For the
consolation of the afflicted it might,
here he remarked that the dictionary
describes the aphides as "a stenorhy-
chan hemopterous insect." The aver-
age citizen describes tele one wilieb
lands his eye in a word or two
syllables which is more desceiptive
of his state of mind than of the iusect
under discussion. Two years ago ive
were afflicted bye, similar plague. A.
stiff frost will relieve the situation.
