Lamont, of Zurich.–It is with regret we chronicle the death of .Abrahans Shettler, sr., of this place, which oc- curiad on Sunday night. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon to the Goshen Line cemetery. Mr, Shettier has bean a. resident of this village for a long tinae and was much respected by all who knew him. Miss Doty's Disgrace. #.44.1.44trak laystery still surraunds tbe disap- pearance of Miss Laura Doty, a young and beautiful girl of Oakville, Oat. Her brother-in-law, Rev. W. E. Kerr, of Ataherstbutg, late of Hensel', has been searching for h'er for over a week. Miss Doty had been visiting at the Kerr hotne, and on Monda.y week the minister took her to Detroit and pet her on board a Grand Trunk train, She expected to return to her home by way of Port Huron. Mr. Kerr re- turned to Amhersthurg. When Miss Doty did not reach Oakville at the ex- pected time, her mother waited for a day, and then telegraphed to find if her daughter had left Amherstburg. Possible places along- the line were queried, brit the girl seeras to have dropped from sight. Her trunk ar- rived. home safely but no possible clue has been found of the girl.'" Barbour, of lot 23, con. 10, West Wawanosh, on Tuesday, in his 34th year. Bright's disease was the cause of death-. Mr. Barbour had been stron and h lth both as a boy and a man When h g ea y was thirteen years old he weighed 190 pounds, but disease overtook him. He had recovered for some time. • Miss Sara Cudmore, of Seaforth (but formerly of Clinton) second eldest daughter of Mr. Wm, Oudmore, of Kippee, left on Saturday for New Westminster, B. Frank Garnish, of Tuckersinith, suf- fered the penalty of the law to the extent of 513 and costs, amounting in all to $21, in a case tried at Clinton last week.
