•Cook, was tried at Goderich last week
.It was concerning an electric light
plant which J. A. Williams purchased'
-of H. Cook, of Hensen. In this ease
..the plaintiff Williams claimed that las
it was not in as gond condition as
represented. Eighteen witnesses
were examined on Wednesday and
their evidence, in many eases contra-
dictory, was generally of a profes-
.sional nature. and made up of volts
and other technical terms. The case
was resumed at 9.30 a. m. yesterday,
:andwasconcluded before the court
adjourned, when His Lordship render-
ed judgmeat for the plaintiff for $300
-and costs. -Wes. Sehoellig has diposed
of his bay driving horse to A. Q.
Bobier of Exeter, for a good figure,
and has since purchased a nice 3 year
old sorrel driver, from his neighbor,
Mr. Geiger. -The whole country- thr

Joseph McCarty while cleaning out
his stable one day last week received
a severe shock from lightning, he was
unconscious for a few minutes. The
gable end was torn out of the stable.
-Thomas Bennett met with an acci-
dent last Tuesday. While coming
home from Will Dawns ploughing bee
his horse took fright passing Toohey,s
side road; they run north to Johti
Cain's, where they were met and stop-
ped by John Dunn, Tom falling
ough the gravel box which was
scattered along the road and escaping
with a sprained ankle and some slight
scratches. The horses received a few
cuts on the legs.

down.- Communion was dispensed in
Carmel church on Sunday last. The w

very ill, and her recovery is doubtful.
