The Forum for October :-The Hon.
John Charlton presents an article on
"Imperial and Colonial Preferential
Trade" that furnishes food for thought,
In concluding hispaper, be says, "A's
the faetbecomes known that while we
buy $48,000,000 of manufactored goods
from the United States, we are only
pezmitted to sell $0,000,000 of our
farm products in return. WS query
is naturally suggested : If the Ameri-
can tariff continues to bar out farm
products front the markets of that
country in exchange for the goods we
bny, why not mit our duties up to the
American standard of fifty per cent.,
and commence leeding the operatives
that produce the goods by secuOng the
production of the Tatter in our own
country ? Upon the action of the
United States will probably rest, in the
near future', the form of answer to this

PERFECT CONDITION THE
GREAT NERVOUS SYSTEM.
-----
When the marvellous complexity,
elicacy aucl power of the mysterious
nerve system is fully realized, we are
ot surprised at the sweeping assertion
f Dr. Lateness, Professor of clinical
Medicine in Hahneinann Medical Col-
ege, Chicago, that "all diseases are
Inc to lesions of the nervous system,"
r, in other words, disease results flout
wen.ii.ened or disturbed nervous sys-
ern,
It was the life work of that great
(hysiciau Dr. Phelpe to give suffering
len and women a medicine that would
et, directly on the. nervous system.
Dr. Phelps succeeded nobly and well.
e placed Paine's Ce.lery Compound
efore some of the ablest physicians
hat ever •assembled in Dartmouth
edical C011ege. It met with their
lull approval, and they at once p10- ti
it in their practice, and found
t a life saver.when other means fail -
d. A
To -day, tens of thousands sound the t
raises of Paine's Celery Compound. h
n every city, town and village of this R
ontinent, -people are found who owe 13
,heir life and good health to Paine's 11
elery Compound,nature's nerve med-
eine and nerve food. K
Tf you are sleepless, irritable, deS- A
on den t, rnorose,or have flushes,ch ills,
oldness of hencle or fee t,deficien t tone D
n stomach and intestines, bear in j
ind your nervous systein needs at. m
ention an 1 repairing. No other med- e
clue but Paine's Celery Compound
an do the work .for you, and make t
ou whet you should be, vigorous,
trong and happy.
Delays are dangeroue. The e
ches and pains of toelay may to naor- 8
ow develop into agonies and miseries. t
In (inc o e o er til compound E
will work a mighty and happy change. 8

wfll fix them up -takeout the infis.mmation
and congestion, give ease to the aching
back.
Mr. J. Evarison, the well-known painter
and decorator, so Oxford St., Toronto,
Ont., said: About eight 'weeks ago I was
taken with an excruciating pain in my back
over the kidneys. It was so bad that my
wife had to apply hot cloths till the doctor
came and gave me morphine.
He said the trouble was due to a stone
passieg from the kidney to the bladder.
My water was loaded with a brick dust
deposit and scalded on passing-.
While in this condition heard ofDoan
Kicheey Pills and started taking them.
/t was not long before I got relief from
'tale and have been improving in health ever
since. My urine is now clear and does, not
smart me, and I feel better than in years.
