teen left Saturday evening for Main
. station, on the Bruce peninsula, on a
• bass fishing excursion. Among the

on the sick list, but we are pleased to
say she is slowly on the mend. -The
Misses Russell, of London, are visiting
friends around the burg and at Win-
chelsea. -The attendance at the C. O.
C. F. meeting on Friday ev'g was ra-
ther meagre owing to the busy sea-
son. -Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Johns and
family picniced at the lake on Satur-
day last and report a good time, and
the lake smooth. -Mr. and Mrs. John
Andrew spent a few days with friends
in London. -Mrs. Robert Skinner vis-
ited her parents in Toronto the past
week, her father, Wm. Hodgson, being
very sick, with but slight hopes of his

W. McAsh is spending a few days at

a serious accident on the farm of John
Peart. They were in the act of haul-
ing in barley, they had the load com-
pleted and were coming to the barn.
John was driving cautiously along the
!lane wben the load turned over throw-
ing John and Richard into the fence
nearly burying them. John calling
for help Richard got extricated and
relieved John from bis perilious posi-
tion. John got a severe jam of the
leg which will lay him up for a few
days. -A. G. Pearson, of London, call-
ed on friends in this vicinity on Satur-
day, conning on his hike. -Mr. and
Mrs. H. Squires spent Sunday at their
daughter's at Hurondale, -Sacrament
of the Lord's Supper was administered
on Sunday to a large congregation. -
The farmers will nearly be through
harvest this week if the weather is
favorable. Oats all .:ut, wheat and
barley all in and threshing is com-
menced, wheat turning out better than
expected, peas not up yet. - Theo
Dennison called on friends here on
Sunday. -S. Peart lost the valuable

Brethour, of Burford, supposed to

hired man threw on the manure heap.
Frank Brimacombe, of London, who
has been visiting for some time with
friends here intends to return home
