Mrs. Etien Nichol, mother of Mrs.
Robert Steware, of St. Marys, died at
her home in Ponlan, Georgia, on April

with regret of the death of Mr. Samuel
Cameron, fornaerly proprietor of the
Albion hotel, Stratford. Mr. Camer-
on died of Bright's disease at his home
in Owen Sound 1Vednesday night.
Mr. Cameron was proprietor of the
Ross House there, having left Strat-
ford on June 12, 1898.
The nuptials of Mr. Duncan McMil-
lan, of North Eastbope, and Miss Sar-
ah .MeTavish, of Tuckersmith, took
place Wednesday morning. The
groom is 0, prosperous young farmer
and a son of Mr. D. McMillan, sr.
The bride is a daughter of the late
Peter:McTavish, of Tuckersmith, a for-
mer resident of North Easthope.
On Friday, April 20, the body of the
late James Green, of the 2nd con. of
Logan, who bad attained the ripe age
of 87 years, was interred in Trinity
church cemetery, Mitchell. Deceased
was born in Albany, New York State,
in the year 1813. In 1820 he came to
Canada, settling in Brockville, remain-
ing there until 1851, when he moved 10
the farm where be died.

by wire on Monday the sadintelligence'
cif *the death of his son. the Rev In-
grain Veruon, at St Hilaire, Minn.
Mr Vernon had suffered' from an at-
tack of appendicitis and had uuder-
gone an operation, his death ensuing a
few hours later. The • deceased was
about 30 years of age and was married
last fall to Miss Rhea Scott, of the
Base Line, Blaushard: His remains
were brought home for interment.

IMMENSE SITCcESS.-Messrs. Rickbeil
Dumart are to be congratulated on
their successful delivery of harvesting
machinery held here on the 5th ult.
The Deering machines are peculiarly
suited to Canadian farming and are
giving unboancied, satisfaettou, The
deli very comprised two carloads, and
the purchasers were notified to be on
hand to remove the machinery from
the cars in the niorning. The local
agents were hand to assist in load-
ing the farmers'. waggons, and upwards
of forty teams were in the procession,
which was one of tbe finest deliveries
ever held ia this part of the country.
Messrs. Rickbeil Dinuart,the agents,
are certainly to be congratulated on
their mimes§ and enterprise. When
the procession reached Zurich every
farmer was handed tieket to procure
his dinner at either hotel, and after
dinner short speeches were made by
the general agents of. the Deering
Manufacturing- 0o, aud of the Mann
Manufacturing 0o. beside the local
agent, Mr. Dutnart, and everybody
went home feeling that it. %vas a, day
well spent. The Jubilee Bend enliv-
ened the proceedings by their selec-
tions. It was a great day for Zurich
and the display will Wad to boons the
Deering harvesting machinery in this
section, and will make the selling of
these machinee an easy matter for the
future. It might be added in connec-
tion that the ageuts here foetal their
show -room entirely too small for their
increasing business and have nailed
nearly. 1000 sqnare feet of Door space
to their already large premises, and
