Salton, took. his place and opened the
aneetirg with an address. which very
mach interested. the audience, after
evbich Mr. Hill, of Crediton, gave a,
solo, and then the speaker, one of Oan-
meet's ablest orators, took the platform,
and. with the wit characteristic of his
country and, an Irishman true to bled),
opened upon le leeture that has never
been equalled in thts place. He le en-
eloa ed with a marvellous memory, ce-
paeloes, retantive and acc.urate, and.
the descripttve and lecture
which be delivered more than pleased
the audience. The keen and intense
interest shown by the assembly went
to prove to the speaker that his trey -
els and ex. lanatidn of Ireland, its or-
i and e ucation was a treat to them.

Club was more than enjoyed, and the

leading musital talent of Crediton was

this place. On the whole the proceed-
ings was a grand success, and the rev-
.erend gentleman has won for himself
the respect and admiration of the
whole community. His lectures have
been listened to, wherever delivered,
with all respect and. poponlarity, he
having lectured in all the large cities
.of the province. -The shareholders and
• patrons of the creamery here held
their annual meeting on Saturday
last, and a large gathering of the
prominent farmers of this vicinity
were present. An interesting meeting
was held and everything was found to i
,be satisfactory. The factory, although
young, is progressing rapidly. The
ivesident, Richard Hicks, expressed'
much gratitude to the board of officers ,
for their labor and hearty assistance ;
with him in the work involved upon ;
,nim. The audience then cheered and '
thanked the officers for their labors,
and heartily reinstated them to their
,old offices. which was the request of
:the president. •Everyone feels satis-
fied with the state of affairs connected .

delivered. He also snowed some of
the relics highly valued among the In -
diens, and sang two old and funnier
hymns in tbe Indian language, which
bighly. pleased the audience. The
church was crowded, and the receipts
of the day for the missionary cause
amounted to $120. Oa Montley even-
ing he also spoke to the League and
the ladies of the church.
