W. efeleonagh, formerly of Ex- eter, wilich occurred at Stratford at a late hour Teesday night week. She had been an acute sufferer from cancer for a couple of years, being a consider- able portion of the time practically helpless. She had many warm friends here, as elsewhere, who extend their sympathies to Mr. McDonagh. She leaves two sons and. one daughter, the latter beingthe wife of W.S.Ding- man, Stratford. The deceased was one of the best known men in that district, hav- ing been the eldest son of .Tames Porte,. who came to this country from Ire- land in,1837, and settled wbere Lecati village now stands, thus being the original settler on the village site.
