Andrew Stewart, of Cataract Falls,
wheeled to Exeter last week, and visit-
ed here. He returned on his wheel.
He will move his fanaily to that place
shortly; he says Cataract is a nice
little village.
Rev. J. A. Turnbull, pastor of the
West Presbyterian Church, Toronto,
received a telegram on Sunday calling
him to Clifton Springs, where his wife
was dangerously ill. Mrs. Turnbull is
a native of Clinton, being the eldest
daughter of the late Ina. Steep.

When No. 2 junior 'district of the
Canadian Lacrosse Association was org
axiized the teams which composed it
were St. Marys, Exeter Goderich and
Parkhill, Since then the two former
teams have dropped out and as a con-
sequence no schedule has been arrang-
ed. St. Marys, Exeter and Parkhill
are endeavoring to arrange a series of
matches for a trophy to be supplied by
the combined teams.
The following resolution was adopt-
ed by a standing vote at the session of
the District Meeting in Exeter on the
19th of Mar -"That whereas our es-
teemed chairman, the Rev. N. R. Wil-
loughby, D. D. in all probability will
' remove from this District, at the cem-
ing Conference: we desire to embrace
this opportunity of expressing our
high esteem for him personally, and
our hearty thanks for the interest he
has manifested in the welfare of the
District, for his loyalty to, and faith-
fulness in administering Methodist
Discipline, and for the kind and colt.

left this station Tuesday for camp in

A Port Albert correspondent writes:
Adam Green, one of the oldest settlers
in this neighborhood, died on Friday
at his son's residence in the village
aged. 98 years. He leaves a wife and
family of seven, all grown up, and two
ttep-daughters, Mrs. Nesbitt, Blyth,
andMrs. Cook, Dashwood. His fami-
ly are Adam and James, farmers in
Dauphin district, Manitoba ; Toin,who
resides in this village ; Edward, Exe-
ter, Peter and Mrs. Oliver Moore. De-
troit; and Mrs. Frank Tesh, Bay City.
The funeral took place ou Monday to
Port Albert cemetery, Rev. Mr. Arm-
strong, pastor ofEnglish _chtirch here,
