BEST STYLE OP ADVERTISING.- The whoop hurrah style of advertisement writing is dying a well deserved. death. Circus adjectives with their superla- tives upon superlatives, which were once successful in throngieg the stores, have been so much overworked that a decided reaction has set in. An ad to be alluring inust now be confidence in- spiring. The store news which is written in a frank, straight -forward style -the store news which does not savor of sensationalism of any kind -- is the sort which inspires the public with the coveted confidence. THE OENCETERY.--Now that spring is approaching, the suggestion is made that the Exeter cemetery alight be greatly improved and made a pleasaet resort for visitors. The walks require repairing and made to look trim and neat, the memorial stones set upright; while the plots should be cleaned and kept trinirned during the summer. Plot owuers can do a great deal to- ward beautifying this most sacred of all earthly homes, by planting flowers and foliage where they will appear to the best adyantage. Above all have the weeds which grow wild, keptunder co ntrol. THE DELINQUENCY PROBLEM. - What is the delinquent thinking about when he permits his paper to run year after year without providing for pa.yrnent? Inconvenience, possi- bly, the first year. Hope. after that. He might pay at the end of the first year, but some trifle delays it from time to time till he makes up his mind to let it go till the end of the next year, when be will pay up the whole thing. It's only ca"small affair. The end of the next finds him a trifle hard up. Rope here steps in and sug- gests more time, and all will be well. At the end of the third year, the de- linquent becomes careless and annoyed at the publisher's appeals. He even begins to allow himself to wonder if that "fool editor" imagines he is go- ing to pay full price for all that waste paper. By the end of,the fourth year he has discovered that he " never or- dered the paper," and if anyone thinks be is going to pay for what he never ordered and never had regularly any- way, somebody will go wrong. that's all. As the years roll on he becomes hardened and be ceases to think of paying. Band concert Monday, April 24th. This is - splendid sugar -making weather. F. W.
