spent at the residence of Rev. R. H.
Shaw on Monday evening it being the
eve of his departure for Mroodseock.
Over 50 members of Holy Trinity con-

about 8 o'clock, and took full posses-
sion of the house. Without a mo-
ment's delay j. Fox was called to the
chair, and ina neat speech appraised
the reverend gentleman of the object
of the gathering. Mr. Shaw was taken
entirely by surprise when Mrs. W.
Reid stepped torward and .read

E. Mara, on behalf of the congregation
presented him with a well-filled purse.
The reverend gentleman, during his
eight years' stay among us,ha,s endear-
ed hiniself to the people, and it is with
feelings of deep regret they now part
with him. The address, to which 111r.
.Shaw made a very suitable reply, was
.signed on behalf of the donors by Mrs.
'Win. Reid and Mrs. E. Mara. -john
