Her Majesty received them with

The Queen will start for Osborne

Her decision to leave Windsor castle
is a great relief to the royal family,
who fear that she is doing too much
forher strength. Every davof
the
past week sihas beaureceiing

guests at luncheon and dinner. When
she received the bishops the other day
it was her own suggestion that a

from Windsor castle, published Fri-

says that she intends to reign as long

A despatch from London says:—The
whole. programme of naval manoevr-

a misunderstanding of thee orders of
the Admiralty. The fleet was divid-
ed into two parts, one cammanded by
Admiral Fellows. ;hie bad instructions

A n stilsixty miles fr

the rendezvous a cruiser overtook
Ad-
miral Fellows and told him that war l
had been declared; whereuplan he turns!
about, and, meeting no enemy, en-
tered the bay and telegraphed to the
Admiralty, "The war is over." After
several hours' silence the Admiralty
sent him a curt order to go to a rend-
ezvous 200 miles west, This he did,
and then turned about again. As ho
approached Blacksod Bay last Sunday
morning the enemy appetared. and
cleared for action. The flagship Ma-
jestic opened fire, but Arimiral Fel-
lows did not respond. On the contr-
ary, he signalled that he had already
captured Ireland, that Church services
were being held. in the various ships
of bis division, and that he must de-
cline to fight. The, Admiralty was fur-
ious, and it will be a long tune, before
the last is heard of this fiasco in nav-

A SENSATIONAL MARRIAGE.
A despatch ,from Philadelphia, Pa.,
says :—Dir. G. F. Cadwalader, the head
of one of Philadelphia's oldest and most
exclusive families was married yester-
da.y in St. Paula's Episcopal church,
to Bridget Mary Ryan, his former
housemaid. The marriage caused quite
a. sensation in society circles in this
city. The bride came to this cauintry
five years ago from Tipperary, Ire-
land, and three years later entered the
doctor's employ as housemaid. Tho
doctor took more. than an employer's
interest in lase fair Irish girl, and final-
ly proposed marriage, She accepted,
and after vainly endeavoring to have
the Roman Catholic Church, of which
she was a member, waive all restric-
tions,
estricttions, Miss Ryan gave up her religion
atnd joined St. Paul's Episcopal church,
of which Dr. Caedwalader is a Vestry-
main. She is 21 years old. Dr.Cadwala-
der. is 50.
