A GRENVILLE COUNTY MAN SAEAES
HIS MIND -FEELS L11D5 ANEW MAN-
-CURED BY FOUR BOXES OF DODD'S
KIDNEY PILLS.
Cardinal Feb. lst (Srectai)--Mr. Robt•
McIntosh. a farmer very widely known
in this county, and living near this
pillage has been in a painful and
dangerous condition as the result of
kidney disease affecting the bladder.
When called upon he said :-
"During three years, until quite re-
cently cured by using four boxes of
Dodd's Kidney Pills, I have been an
intense sufferer from kidney disease
which kept going from bad to worse
thciugh 2 was doctoring all the time."
Under advice I began using Dodd's
Kidney Pills, at once realizing great
help. I now feel like a new mall and
am perfectly cured of kidney trouble
in any form.
OLD TODMORDEN.
HAPPY HAPPENINGS IN THE HISTORIC
HAMLET.
DIr. John Gamble, jr., the well-
known and popular son of John Gam-
ble, Esq., proprietor of the Todmarden
Hotel during the pastfotxryears, gives
the following account of his rescue
from heart and nerve trouble through
the use of Milburn's Heart and Nerve
Pills. Speaking to our reporter, Mr.
Gamble said: "Soiree three months.
ago I began to feel very poorly ; in
fact as if I was moving around in a
dream. This condition I wrongly at-
tributed to biliousness, for I became
very weak and seemed to have no
staying power. I also becarne very
nervous, and would jump or start at
the slightest sound. The feeling was
one of constant dread. I expected
something dreadful to happen, I knew
not what. Again I was dizzy, any me-
mory failed ale very often, and, as a
matter of fact my whole system was
out of order.
Our druggist, Mr. H. W. Love, cor-
ner Broadview and Danforth avenues,
recommended Milburn's Heart and
Nerve Pills some three weeks ago, and
I have taken them according to dir-
ections, From the very first I began
to improve, and am now surprised at
the change in my condition. I am
very much stronger ; my nerves are
steady, and any memory bright. I no

recommend them to all who suffer
from any or all the symptoms which I
have mentioned to you, and must re-
turn my thanks to the manufacturers
of these pills for placing such an ex-
cellent medicine before the public."

MY DAD'S THE ENGINEER.
AN INTERESTING STORY SUGGESTED BY
THE POPULAR, AND PRETTY MELODY.
Mrs. James Smith, Don Mills Road,
Todxnordon, Ont., gave our reporter a
kindly interview a few days ago, and
spoke about the cure effected by Mil -
burn's Heart and Nerve Pills in the
case of her husband, Mr. Jas. Smith,
the well-known, popular and efficient
engineer.
Says Mrs. Smith : "My husband has
been suffering for a- long time with
nervous debility, which seriously af-
fected his general health. The use of
Milburn's
Heart and
Nerve
Pills
which he got from Mr. H. W. Love
the druggist, has been very beneficial
to him. They did him more good than,
anything else he had ever taken be-
fore, strengthening his nerves, and
toning up his entire system. They are
the grandest remedy for nervous affec-
tions, and, moreover, the best t >aic
obtainable. They proved as efficacious
in my husband's case that I commenc-
ed giving them to my daughter for
nervousness, with which she has been
troubled for some time, and they are
already giving -satisfactory results."

The a ckno wledged king of medicines
in the world to -day is Paine's Celery
Compound.
Its marvellous cures during the
month of January made up a record
far surpassing the work of any pre-
vious month in the past years. Hun-
dreds of letters were sent in by saved
men and women who were truly
plucked from the grave and saved to
anxious relatives and friends. In
thankful, burning words the young
and old admitted that without Paine's
Celery Compound their cases would
have been quite hopeless.
Surely, poor sufferer, this is sufficient
proof that Paine's Celery Compound is
able to meet your case, even though it
be serious anddesperate-able to give
you the new life you so much desire.
Try it once ; a bottle or two will work
wonders.

Wandering by the_ }iedgorows
Seeking flow'rots fair,
When the breath of Springtide
Warms the wi3try air ;
Oft your outstretched finger
Sudden smart receives -
Tis the poisonous Nettle,
Lurking neath the leaves.
Seize that Nettle boldly !
Crush it all you can 1
If with faltering fingers
Timidly you clasp,
It will wound you sorely,
Stinging like an asp ;
Grasp it, then, with courage,
And its power is gone,
All its venomed mischief,
All its harm is done.
Clutch the Nettle firmly !
Wither it with the Sun
As. through Life you journey,
Seeking ftiondship true,
Idle tales will roach you.
Striving to undo.
Heed no slanders 'whispered
With the venomed aim
Of the slinking coward,
Longing to defame;
Thwart the treacherous scoundrel
Hold him up to shame!
For, if once you listen,
Bitterly you'll rue
, Lose many a friendship
Tender -faithful -true ;
Many hopes that's perished,
Many a shattered plan
Of our earthy journey,
Tearfully you'll scan,
Trample on the Nettle !
Crush it --like a elan!

CONCLUSIVE PROOF,
From a Well Known Citizen.
My daughter Polly, has for more titan a year
been troubled with severe symptoms of kidney
disease. Sho had constant and acute pains in
her back. The pain in her head was fearful
and almost unendurable. It frequently pro-
outedher feom attending school, and she found
stud at home practically 1
y ca impossible. p Y Sho had
P
no appetite, and did not sleepwell. Tho pain
was very severe around her eart and she was
much troubled with fluttering and palpitation.
Sho was completely worn out in body and was
tired and drowsy all the time. Her mother
and myself became seriously alarmed as she
was constantly gettingworse.
"Last July my daugter Sarah, a teacher in
the Public School at Kingsville, Ont., came
home to spend her vacation, and finding her
sister in such a distressing and dangerous
condition, said, I am taking Doan's Kidney
Pills and they aro doing me much good, I have
a box with mo and will divide with Polly, which
she did. By the time Polly had finished the
half box her improvement in health was
Fsormalarked•

Her full restoration to health and spirits was
rapid and continuous. She has now none of
her former dangerous, painful and distressing
kidney troubles. She eats and sleeps well, and
for more than a month has enjoyed the most
vigorous health. Sho has not lost a day at
school since she commenced taking the pills,
and has so much faith in them since they
restored her to full health that she wants me
to keep six boxes in the house all the time, in
case they should be needed and not available.
