They were renioyed to Charles Per-

four wiles.
Ferree About 2 o'ciork Sunday morn-
ing the fire alarm sounded. The
brigade and citizens generally were
soon upon the scene, and with
herculean effort,in a very few minutes
had the fire under control, and ex-
tinguished. The unfortunate building
is situated on Andrew street, and
owned by Mrs. Geo. Eacrett. It was
unoccupied at the time, and as there
had been no fire in or near the build-
ing recently,it is evident that a fire bug
has been applying his torch. The
house had gone.ehrongh a process of re-
novation on Saturday, preparatory to
a tenant moving in on Monday. The
fire was started in the kttchett, which,
together with the upper part of the
Retia building, was badly burned,
while the parts untouched by fire ae.e
bmily damaged by water. There was
an insurance sufficient to cover cost of
repairing. Had. the fire not been
noticed by a doctor, who gave the
alatrin, the building would have been
reduced to ashes.
