Mr. John Shoebottom of East Wawan•

Manson's swamp, the ditch was covered
with long heavy poles; it is supposed the
steer put its head down between the poles
to drink, and the bank gave way, causing.,
it to fall in, and being unable to get put

While Mr. John Roach, of Seaforth

Wednesday morning, he met with a very
serious ene'dent. A horse which another
gentleman was driving ahead of him be-
came frightened and jumped around dir-
ready in front of Mr Roaoh. The coliisioe

fell to the ground about ten feet away,
breaking his thigh bone.

Webb, a respected farmer of Went Nis-
sonri on Saturday last. His team was at-
taohed to the separator and in getting up
he slipped, and the horses starting he wee

not only the separator but also the water -
tank which followed passed over him
breaking Ms leg in two pleoee as also a
finger of Ms right nand. The horses ran
to the stable some 40 rode aorose a plough-
ed field but neither injured themselves

has entered an elation against the Grand
Trunk for $10,000 damages for the loss of
her husband. who was killed on the rail-
way uear Lucian Crossing lest winter.
One of the main allegations for the com-
plaint is that the Grand Trunk provided
ao means of leaving the crossing except by
track, and that the entire oonimunity had
been compelled to waik the ties from all
directions. Since the accident the company
has built a road to tbe depot. The case
was set for trial at Middlinex Fall Amnon
but was postponed, owing to a motion at
Toronto for particulars of the claima,
which (mused a delay in dosing the pro-
ceedings.

tempt at murder,. arising out of a disap-
