was expected 1 would be in the asylum,
but now I am in perfect robust health and
it we the B. 13. 13. that did A, I suffer,
ea for five or six years from oonatipation,
aometimes so severely that I went out of
my mind. I tried various doctors, both in
the, country and in the city, and took
medicinee too numerous to name, but
everything failed to have the desired ef-
fect. When I used Burdock Blood Bit-
ters, however, it !succeeded beyond expec-
tations, requiring only two bottles to euro
zne. To make it still more certain that
B. B. le, is the real cure for Constipation,
may sey that some two years after-
ward I felt the symptoms teturning and I
took one bottle more, and from that time
to this present day, (oyer eight years) I
have never had any return of the diseaee,

To the Editor of the Exeter Times.
Deis.. SIR, -As there has been con-
eie, derable talk and comment on a
xeselution that was passed at our last
'regular meeting of L. 0. L., No. 308,
Hillsgreen, relating to the Manitoba
School Question, will you kindly
allow me apace in the columns of your
valuable paper to put the true state of
the case before the public. It has been
said by some of our milk and water
Protestants that the mover and second-
er of that resolution were afraid to put
their names to it. Now sir, as the
mover of that resolution I have nothing
to fear, I have no political axe to grind
mor haste 1 any fear of Rome. It was
Zone from pure protestant principles,
,aleet simply because other lodges have
done it as some of our croakers have
said, and moreover I think we are the
only lodge in the district, if not in the
County, that has taken any action in the
matter. I might say here that some of
the papers to which the resolution was
istit did not do it justice. They gave a
few items to suit their own political
-tastes or perhaps they did not want to
offend Rome. I did riot expect any
better from the Seaforth Expositor as
it is no friend of Orangeism, but small
gifts must be thankfully received, and
as some of it found the type instead of
the waste basket we should be satisfied.
It is amusing to read some of the
editorials of some of our papers; the
News -Record with others in which
they try to show that Rome has a
'grievance that should be remedied.
History shows us that Rome has, and.
talways will have a grievance as long as
she gets all she asks for. 1 need not go
back two hundred years ago to show
this. She had a grievance in the
Jesuit's Estate's Act,when she received
$00,000; she had a grievance when the
Bible was taught in the schools, which
was remedied by giving them the Ross
Bible, or in other words BishopLynch's
Bible;she had a grievance when the
'History of England,Was taught in our
Public School. All these grievances
we find have been remedied by the
-.politicians of to -day in order to hold
the Roman. Catholic vote! Now sir, we
shall view the grievances on the other
side. We will take the Bathurst School
vase in New Brunswick for an example.
'We find the Orangemen and Protestants
there raised money enough to try their
-rights in the Court of Justice, but were
elefeated, while the Roman Catholics of
Manitoba get their casts paid out of the
publio till. I think the time has come
when we must take a loaf put of the
book of Rome by throwing off our poli-
tical shackles. .Put church first, then
politics. 1 know a Roman Catholic not
many miles from here whose political
views have been turned three times
• within ten years to suit his churth.
When the interests of the church of
Borne are abistake, they feel bound to
sacrifice both political and patriotic
principles. There wail a dine when, if
the Pope of Rome had come oub in the
Tory. coati should have Supported him,
but I learned a lesson AS far back as
1878 whon in North Middlesex that has
done me einoe. don't believe in giv-
ing our Orange principles an airing on
the 12th of July and then playing into
the hands of the Church of Rome when
an eleetion is about to take plaee or
when they say they have a grievance.
Thanking yOtt for the space allowed .me
in your most valuable paper, I ant
yews respectfully,
JAS. FOSTAR,
Piet District 1Vlaster,
