Dressed boss are advancing in price on
account of a general scarcity throughout the
province' Tuesday in Toronto they were $5 57
to 0 per cwt' Asa result all bog products are
on the upward tendency. The Chicago pork
market, which has also been fluctuating, is
also nevanoieg again the pest few days.
British Grain Trade
LONDON. March 25. -The Mark Lane Express,
in its weekly review of the British grain trade
says; English wheats have been weak with 3d
decline, and foreign wheat from 3sto6ddecline.
American cargoes were quoted at 22e and
California 24s. American flours have dropped
6d, Corn and oats were in good demand and
rmly hold. To -day the markets were dull.
English and foreign wheats wero a turn lower.
Flour was steady. California breeding barley
lost 5d,and 0ornl and beans and -Peas were
steady.
Buffalo Barley Mar ket.
BUFFALO. March 25. -The trading season in
tariov is pretty nearly at an end. Beyond an
occasional lot there will be tothing, further
done in this cereal until the now crop is ready.
Thevieible supply is 960,100 bu. In Buffalo
the stocks aggregate 348,179, a decrease during
the past week 01 1,625 bu. The present supply
exceeds that of last year by about 167,829 bu.
but very, little of this is offered for sale. No 2
Canada is quoted atfi2o. 63e, and therm are no
r grades of etanada on the marks 0, which
finally lower.
Montreal Live Stock Markets.
MoNTneAL. March 35. -There were about 500
head of butchers' cattle, 150 calves, 100 sheep
and a dozen spring lambs offered for sale at the
East End Abattoir to -day. The butehers,were
out in considerable numbers despite the heavy
rains and the exooediegly bad state of the
upper of Frontenao street, where the cart-
wheels are making bad ruts where the snow is
still deep. Some of the Express wagons Dame
to grief'while oonvering sheep and calves to
the Abattoir this morning. and the butchers
have grave fears about the difficulty of bring-
ing dressed beef from there to their respective
stalls. Trade in cattle was not bad but prices
were rather lower than on 'Tuesday and con-
siderablelower (ban on last Monday. The best
butchers' cattle sold at from 3ito 4o per ppound,
pretty good stook sold at from Ole to 34o and
rough, half fatted beasts at 2eo to Se per
pound. Bulls were plentiful, and some of them.
were rather scrubby looking- Prides of bulls
ranged from 20 to enc oer pound. The calves
were generally a po0riot,and sold from $200 $4
for common and from $5 to $8 each for good
