bill respecting the Speaker a the Legisla
tive Council in that House at 1 o'clock
Saturday the Hon. Mr. Starnes was
stricken' with paralysis on the left side.

down and told Hon. P. Garneau that he

says; English Wheat e have been firm and in
some markets nut tad at 6s rise; foreign "wheats
are stronger; California cargoes have been
bel d for 5s advance: Oregonwheatja quoted at
26s. and Manitoba wheat at 26s 56; corn, flat
and round' has been held at 22s; barers 'we
been quiet: oats steady. To -day English a d
foreign wheats have been maintained; flour is
tia dearer; corn steady; oats neglected" belins
and peas weak.

700 beae of butchers' cattle. 250 sheep and
lambs and a dozen celves offered for sale at the
East Bed Abattoir to -day. Betildes these there
were a cot eiderable number of cattle held at
the stock yards. as their owners did not choose
to offer them on a gluttedinarket. a he hatchets
