I want to be a participating woman," Mrs. Claus said. Mrs. Claus's decision caused strong protest by the reindeer and Santa Claus. "I'm not having any wife of mine out . work, ing. If she thinks, I'm gointo do the housework while she's gone she's crazy," Santa said. Rudolph, head reindeer, and spokesman for the herd expressed concern over Mrs. `Claus's ability as a driver'. "She's never dri,, n the sleigh before and' now she expects us to trust her, Rudolph said. "She's going to cramp our., style," another reindeer said. The elves however had no objections to offer. "I think it's a great i'dea," one of the elves said. "It'll give Santa a well-deserved break even if he doesn't see it that way. Besides I think International Women's Year is a great idea. It's about time women got out and did their thing." Mrs. Claus says she made the decision only because it is Intern conal Women's Year and l felt she would be doing her part, "I don't intend to make this an every year thing," Mrs. Claus said. "After all that would be taking Santa's job away from him a d• he loves it: , Besides he hates housework." "There are a few things that have to be attended to before Mrs. Claus makes the trip. For one thing she has to learn how4to give orders to the reindeei'.'I' m going to get Santa to Teach me.," Mrs. class were singing their favorite Christmas ca, ols in the Robertson' concert. If she learns how to talk to the reindeer she'll want to do this, every year and I'M not about to let her." Word leaked out today that Santa had vetoed Mrs. *Claus's decision and she has decided to abide by his ruling. "I still believe in harmony at Christmas especially at the North Pole and if that's the only way of keeping it, then that's the way it's got to be," Mrs. Claus said. 1 girls' choir from Brookside Public School visited two flunking homes in God*'•rich last week much to the delight of Men Mai grY %;;V,,,5 3.a '•33fig ..u4 az to 3 t ;m4:4 the many the ladies senior citizens who listened, Don Cam.eron.directs in a medley of Christmas carols.
