He brings toys and gifts that with please thern. His name is Santa Claus. Santa is the spirit,. of Christmas, "spirit' meaning having uo bodyv a ghost. Many children say, "I've never seen him so I don't believe in him." I think that is thoughtless because if he's a ghost you can't see him, unless you yourself are one. About this time of year Santa is busy making toys and reading, letters boys and girls send him ,tellingwhat they would like to receive on. Christmas. Soon Santa. will be flying ebrough the air bringing gifts, getting 'stuck in Chimneys and eating cookies children leaVe him. W :y does he do it? Because it i is job arid he gets payed wit your cookies and milk, beautiful Christmas trees, lovely Christmas lights and letters but mostly your belief in him. Was he the person who brought joy and peace to the world? Was he the one who lighted up little children's hearts? • Think about it. No one really knows wsho he is. On Christmas Eve I remember 1 would always gat up and go downstairs., to try to see him but "either I would fall asleep orthink 1 would have 'missed him. The mysterious part is that in the morning when you get up the food and drinks that you left for them is gone.. ,1 believe that, therte— Santa Claus' - the spirit of Christmas. Without Santa, who would the children depend upon to bring their toys. They know their parents, don't have flying reindeer and they knOw their father is to fat to fit down -the chinipey. They have seen pic(*s of Santa and they know hecouldn't fit down the. chimney either, but to them he is magic and can • do anything. As they get. older, many of them wonder why Santa always forges their father's writing, but Santa goes on in the hearts of everybody.
