isited their. daughter Betty
and her husband, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Stirling, Darlene
and Harold in Tharnesville
last weekend.
Sympathy is extended to
former Dungannon residents,
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Durnin
on the death of his sister, Miss
Tracy Durnin, in Goderich
Hospital last week,
Ben Park suffered a
.coronary attack last Monday
and was in intensive care in
Wingham hospital until
Friday. He has now been
moved to a regular ward and
is showing improvement.
Bill and Colleen Naylor of
Sarnia visited her parental
home on the weekend and
took her mother Mrs. .Ren
Park over to Wingharn to visit
Mr. Park in the hospital. Bill
and ,. Colleen . will celebrate
their fourth wedding an-
niversary bn Dec. 11. �.
Miss Flora 'Durnirr , of
Tottenham called on friends
in Dungannon last week and
spent a few days in Goderich
with her cousin, Mrs, Jim
W'ilson,,
The Official Board and
rnanse committee held a
meeting in the church on
s Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Cecil Blake visited
with her brother and sister-in-
law, Mr.... and, Mrs. Dick
Kilpatrick and Anne's
mother, Mrs. Atkinson in
Wingham on the weekend. ,

Lucknow was introduced as
guest speaker by Mrs. Cecil
Blake'. Miss Thompson
showed slides of her trip to
Africa describing Nairobi in
Kenya - the flowers, tree, r~.
buildings, parks, etc: also
'Tanganyika and, described
the field trips to see the many
wild animals.
Her talk wa:,, .interesting,
concise and humorous.
Mrs. E. Black, first vic'e-
president' thanked the guest
speaker and presented her
with' a W .I. plate, Mrs, Robt.
Irvin ran the projector.
Mrs. Hugh McWhinney
expressed thanks to the.
executivewho had made the
Christmas Party a, success
and Mrs. McNee closed the
meeting by wishing all a
Merry Christmas.

On Thursday, December 4,
Dungannon Women's
Institute members, each with
a guest, held their annual
Chr,is•tmas Party , in the
church S,S, rooms. It was a
smorgasbord pot luck meal
with turkey and all the
trimmings.
The president, Mrs.
Graham McNee, welcome,d
all present and ' opened with
the singing of the W,I, Grace,
accompanied by Mrs. Gordon
Finnigan at the piano,
followed by a toast to' the
Queen.
Three tables were
beautifully decorated and
serviette holders ,and place
Cards. had been made to add
to the color. •
Following the bountiful
meal Mrs. Harry Girvin and
Mrs. Elmer Blaek,distributed
the exchange of gifts.
•Miss• Beth McConnell
recited "Christmas at the
Purple Bear", and "What the
Little Girl Said". ,, .
Mrs. McNee then asked
Mrs. Black to 'assist her in'
making the presentation of a
life membership certificate
and pin to Miss Beth
McConnell. In her address
Mrs. Black told of Beth's
willingness ; to give readings
or prepare topics through
many years back to, Jr.
Institute days.
Although taken completely
by surprise Beth expressed
her appreciation and ' her
thanks. Carol - singing was
then enjoyed. ,
