:A honeymoon in Florida .followed the November 14
wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pickett of Waterloo. The
c4ple were wed in Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich
with the Rev. G. L., Royal officiating at the double -ring

The bride is the farmer Rosanne MacDonald, daughter
of Mr. .and .Norman MacDonald, Goderich. The
groom's parents are Mr. and Mr's. 'Ken Pickett, Clinton.
The bride was given in nla'rriage by her father. She
wore ,t gown of white. Matte silk jer,,s,ey, with floor
sweeping train. Her shoulder -length veil, trimmed with
lace, was held in place by.a hand -beaded headpiece. She
carried a bouquet of pink variegated carnations, baby's
breath and white roses,
Maid of honor, Mrs.Joanne Muck, friend of the bride,
wore turquoise matte jersey,.dress, with softly draped
neckline and long sleeves. She carried a nosegay of red
rose's, white daisies, and pink variegated carnations,

The wedding—"reception was held at the. White ar-
nation, Holnlesville, where guestswere entertained' by
the hand Shannon. • ' -
Tho bride's mother selected a -1(nt gown. of autumn
-Trielnn-,peau de soie polyester'accented by autumn shades
of nlel,on french. lace. =She wore gold • accessories and a
corsage ut yellow, roses,
-Phe groom's mother wore. lei peach 'polyester gown,
with long slee\`.es and•'a beaded waistline,' She,'wore,black
patent accessories and a corsage of white roses.
For travelling to Florida, the bride changed to a suit in
dusty green, consisting of a shawiioollared jacket, gored,
.skirt- and rrca111-flowered blouse, accessorized by tan
shoes and a tan purse. 1-ter'corsage was of yellow roses.
Prior to her wedding the bride was feted at two sur-
prise • shc)\~.er•s, the •first given by Joanne Muck, Diane
Smithson ;Ind Bonnie Wilke, friends o'f the"bride and the
second given by Mrs. K.ar•en Sturdy and, Mrs. Doris
Ma1lough.. Mrs.- Betty MacDonald and Mrs, MPrrilyn
'fhc)`nlpson also held a grocery showier. She was also
given a stag shower by Mrs. Cindy Fleet in'Cl.inton,
Mr. and Mr•s. Pickett are residing at.300 Regina St..

The property had been
purchased by Huron 'County
early this fall and then resold.
This house on the corner of
Tur•nberry Street and the
road from Godclt•ich to Blyth,
Obstructed the view " of
motorists on en,tei'ing .the
highway was first owned by
'James Sutherland. He sold it
in 1871 to Ggol . Younghlut who
oiler:Jilteti a shoe store in the
village, '
He lived -in the front part of
the house and sold shoe1s• in
the rear part. Four men were
employed making long
leather boots to order.
In 1897 he sold- to Conrad
.H•elwig who sold it in 191(1 to
Martin Dyer, George Marsh
bought this -house in 1923 and
later sold to William DoddSr.
in 1930. The late William
Dodd Jr, owned it ir1 1963.
