of roddage payments as
farrn►erly. Fifty per cent of
current land value will be

The Hydro Corridor Routes
Committee reported that
where agricultural lands are
acquired by Hydro in fee,
there is provision to license
the land back for agricultural
purposes:' There has been
several meetings with Hydro
official's to negotiate terms of
the license -back agreement.
Some improvements have
resulted but the platter of
height restrictions has not yet
been resolved satisfactorily.
The license , agreement
presently' re(OA res the
licensee to ensure that .the

• Huron farmer Gordon Hill
of Varna was re-electred to a
seventh term as president of
the Ontario Federation 'of
Agriculture at the OFA an-
nual,t Hamilton last week.
Petoi Hannan of Wellington
County was elected. first vice-
president and Ralph Barrie of
Lanark' County was elected

Mr. Hill, following his
election, discussed the"role of
marketing boards and
`suggested that commodity
marketing'boards are here tc)
stay and likely will takeover
broader responsibilities in the
future.
Mr.. Hill . said he feels
nr3eketing boards will be
expanded to cover wider
variety of crops. He said
there now are 24 boards. in
Ontario, handling 3$•
agricultural coffimodities.
. "They are the only way a
• farn)er'has, to have a say in
the. price of his product," he
said.
Mr. Hill said the hoards Will
help- both farmers and con-
sumers. •
"The consumer is assured a
supply of high-quality
produce at a reasonable''(
price." -
Heti' said some boards have
coma under fire recently for
some 'highly -publicized
mistakes; but' he predicted
that, 'in future, `consumers
wiJ,l take a greater interest in
the boards' operation.
"The boards are in public
view -more' thav any other
operation," he said. .
In Ontario, the Farm
Products Marketing Board
oversees the decisions of
Other commodity agencies
and can .over -rule any'
decision.
He also said he feels .far-
' ming is changing to adapt to
new ,tephnology and said he •
"ees a trend toward more
two-man operations.
