person, Miss Annie Ronsom of Luck -
now, formerly ot Hensel'. They re-
turned to Hensall on Saturday after a

visiting her brother, Mr. J. A, Pope at

funeral of the late Ross McPherson, on

death exemplifies the fact that ‘‘in life
we are in death." A few days prior to
his demise he was in apparent good
health, and having eaten somewhat
largely of grapes, the seeds lodged in
the verrniform appendix and an operation
was the only chance for him to recover.
While in the performing of the operat-
ion he died, never*regaining conscious-

Christian fortitude and trusting in the
merits" of a crucified Saviour, he
crossed the bourne from whence no
traveller returns.. Ross was a universal

BRIEFS. -Weather keeps very dry
for this season of the year.. -Fall
ploughing is progressing very slowly
as the land is so hard. -There is
market for a great quantity of grain
from this section this fall. Prices are
very small but most of the farmers
have decided to sell now and take
chances of a rise as the rise has been
,going the wrong way for the last fete
years. -Mrs. Robert Fulton, of Els.
worth, Mich, is visiting her father
this week, and is looking fairly vrells
She intends returning on Thursday.-

few days here this week and seemed
to enjoy his visit. -This is the season

his pot of apple butter until it has
boiled to suit his taste.-lafr. William
Holt and family left here last week for
their home in Khiva, after spending
the season in their. But:tamer hotel here.

last week on business. John Fallis of

one day hunting and succeeded as a
