.Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital Auxiliary
met on Monday, October 20.
The ladies were shown two
films on arthritis by Mrs.
Joyce Herring, in-service co-
ordinator of the hospital. -The
films were very enlightening.
It was explained there are
many new procedures now
that were unknown a few
years ago. The doctors ex-
plained it was most important
to seekmedical help early as
there is then a better chance
of control.
The president of the
Auxiliary, Frances 'Worsen,
told the ladies there would be
a therapist from The
Canadian • Arthritis and
Rheumatism Society at the
hospital on Friday,, October
24. All were welcome to hear
her.
There were ten ladies of the
Goderich ' Auxiliary who
attended the -Fall Conference
in Stratford.
Mrs. Jo Berry reported on
the first speaker Dr. Wick-
wire of 'Stratford. Dr. Wick-
wire spoke on breast cancer
and the ,need of 'women to do
self,examination of their own
breasts. He also spoke,of the
new machines that are being
used to detect breast cancer.
The , second speaker was
Dr. Delton Glebe of Waterlog.
Goderich will host the Fall
Conference of District two in
1976.

If you're on a reducing diet,
how much weight should you
lose in a week? No more than 2
pounds. A greater weight loss
isn't healthy and it doesn't help
you to change your eating
habits. You may want to lose
weight faster, but remember, a
loss of 2 pounds a week gets rid
of 8-10 pounds of fat in,a month.
And don't forget that when
you're losing weight,
NUTRITION MATTERS - A
LOT!

Caring is so much a part of me that being able to provide a facility like Heather
Gardens helps my feeling of self worth. I want others to know the thrill of caring
too. It is one way of making the community a better place,* live. But the home
will not be -0a home: Only with family, community groups, church volunteers and
private individuals taking part through a personal interest in the old art of
befriending and caring, will this be tree. There is nothing more valuable to a
person than the belief thatfariiily and friends care for them, even when they are
in a home away from'home, which is what Heather Gardens is designed to ac-
