The offering was received by Dana Bean, Norman Wightman, Lawrence Plaetzer and Gordon Gross. The speaker, Rev. Ted Hoogsteen of the Christian Reform Church in Blyth, gave an inspiring 'message on the theme --"The Renewal of a Vi ion", and based his remarks on I Corinthians, 3rd chapter. He challenged ePv,eryone as to their, smallness of their vision to- day .and urged them to have the Vision of the Church of Jesus Christ, hope, willing service and to work with the Vision. The bouquets in the church were placed in memory of the late George Millian and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Toll, by their families. ' Following the service, a luncheon was served in the Community Memorial hall by the members of the United Church women. The an- niversary cake was cut by Dr. William Fingland of Niagara Falls and Miss Margaret R. Jackson of Blyth, both former members. Dr. Fingland reminisced about the building of the church in 1904' and spoke of his early days in the church and community. Mrs. Brian Hallam spoke of the birthday book being published and printediut was delayed in the mail. Anyone' wishing' a copy .of ;this book please contact Mrs. Hallam. Mrs. Hallam paid tribute to the late Rev. Garnet Potter who had started the plans for the anniversary service. She spoke a few words to Mrs. Potter and a gift of shelves were presented to her.• Mrs. Potter thanked everyone. Mr. Oliver Anderson, 'hairman'of the anniversary, spoke a few words and thanked the committee for their help. They were Miss Nancy Anderson, secretary, Maurice Bean, Mrs. Brian .Hallam, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott .Lapp, Miss Doris Naylor, Mrs. Norman Wightman,.. Fred Wagner, and Mr. Keith. Arthur. A trio -Mrs. Robert Cook, Miss Nancy Anderson and Miss Jennifer. Grange ac- companied by Mrs. 'Norman Wightman sang the Vesper Hymn. Special guests were Mr. Keith MacMillan and Miss Jean MacMillan of Toronto. Mr. MacMillan is the son of the late Sir Ernest MacMillan and -Miss Jean is the daughter of the late A. MacMillan, 'a ministerin the •. Auburn church in 1887. Mr. MacMillan spoke to of early days that his grand- father was minister at Auburn and of his interest in the music world and the Book of Praise and the Hymnary which he worked on. The Craig William S. Craig, Clinton, Mrs. Betty' Wilkin and Mrs. Harry Worsell of Goderich sang "Amazing , Grace" accompanied by Mrs. Wightman. . Letters of regret were read from Rev. and Mrs. Hugh Wilson, Exeter, Rev. and Mrs. W.R, Alp, Toronto and Rev. and Mrs. Robert Hiltz of Sturgeon Falls. A solo was sung by Mr. W. Craig, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Worsell. A duet was sung by Mr. Aubrey Toll and his daughter, Mrs. Tom,,., Cronin, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Kai, Miss . Nancy Anderson, and Mrs. Robert Cook, sang the duet - God spoke to me today. Pastor Alfred Fry reminisced about church union in 1925 and then sang the solo -"How rGreat Thou Art". A silent prayer was observed in memory of those who had passed to Higher Service followed by the benediction by Pastor Fry, Eyening concert Knox United Church Auburn: was filled to capacity' for the concert on Saturday evening. Welcoming the guests were Mrs. Bert Marsh, Mr, Fred Wagner and Mr. Maurice Bean, In charge of registration were Mrs. Kenneth McDougall and Mr. Ronald Hallam. Mr. Murdoch Morrison lay minister of Varna was chairman. Musical numbers were presented 0 by the Bradley family of Clinton, Mrs. Donald ('Margaret Jack,n) Kai of Oakville, and Mrs.. Tom, (Margo Grange) Morris of London played piano and organ duets. A triple trio composed of Mrs... A harmonica solo was played by Mr. Ross Robinson accompanied on the auto harp by Mrs: Jack Walker of Wingham. - Eight members of the Craig family of Clinton and Goderich gave a musical selection and duets were sung by Mrs. Irwin (Joan Mills)' Schmidt of Burlington and Mrs. B.E. (June Mills) Nixon of Mississauga. ' A solo was sung by Mr. Elliott Lapp and following selections by'' the Bradley family and 0 Canada, lunch was served by members of Unit 2.
