Now, Corrie does not sing on this record and so it, is unlike others about which you have read in this column but I thought I'd like to share with you a little about the record anyway. . Less than one year ago', my wife and I had never heard of Corrie ten Boor& but more recently we have come to know and love "Fante" Corrie even though we have never personally met the lady. Our pastor's wife drew our attention to two books, "The Hiding Place" and "Tramp for the Lord", written by Corrie ten Boom. • If you have not read the books, may I suggest you add them to . your list 'for future' 'reading? These books tell the story of Corrie and her family and their service of the Lord from pre WWII, through capture and in- ternment in Ravensbruick to ,„Corrie's recent • speaking engagements which 'have taken her around the world. A few years ago World Wide Pictures, the exclusive distributors 'tor Billy Graham films, began making a film of They Hiding Place which is being released this year. "The Secret Room" presents an encounter with Corrie ten Boom on record. Corrie writes, "'In Holland,20 years before World War II, n y grandfather prayed and asked` .. =God's blessing upon His people, the Jews. That prayer guided my family's destiny and led us to an adventure that I know was the fulfillment of my grandfather's prayers. I would like to share with you the drama of this fulfillment ... and what we learned through sacrifice, har- dships, and suffering.-Throtrgh, what ,we 'experienced, we discovered that with the Helping Hand of Jesus, we could endure any situation we faced. w .. Corrie' comments on the suf- fering, deprivation,, starvation, and beatings she and her sister Betsie received. After each in- cidence,, they prayed . for their captors. w • Indeed God does bless and speak as we listen to Corrie ten Boom tell of her, life and her love for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; of her attempt to save Jewish babies from certain death, of her encounter with .a Jewish teenager who proved to be., one of the babies saved, of the secret room, of the capture, humiliation, ,;and suffering, and on through events that are -almost unrma i are—, " iu"i -always, always, placing the Lord above all. There is music in this record. Some of it is solemn, sorrowful, and heavy. Other is' soft, sweet, and heavenly. . Corrie ten Boom concludes her rd. jacket comments with the. ' ds.of Ps. 91:1 (KJV) "He who dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty". Goodbye for now. Yours, His, GR for GM.
