delegates to represent the
riding at the National Liberal
Federation meeting in Ottawa,
November 7, 8 and 9. • •
The meeting . was chaired by

Broadfoot of Brucefield.

The meeting discussed plans
for fund raising and named, a
" committee including Mrs.
Muriei Murphy, Goderich;
Mrs. Marilyn Benn, Lucan; Bill
Kiel, Wingham; and Graham
Craig, Walton, to initiate
arrangements for a program to
be underway before the year
ends.
Wingham firm
may be sold.
Lloyd -Truax Limited, a
Wingham-based company with
branches in Walkerton and
Toronto, may soon pass under
new ownership.
It was ',announced recently
. that Conduits -Amherst Limited
of Mississauga, has entered into
negotiations to acquire. the
company., Lloyd -Truax is a
wholly owned unit of Tormont
Industries Limited of Toronto.
If an agreement is reached,
the closing of negotiations is
schedul.ed.frr October.
Don Lloyd of Wingham
headquarters reported no
progress as yet.
Both Conduits and Lloyd -
Truax manufacture and
market ~ products for the con-
struction industry.

At its latest meeting, Stephen
Township Council approved a
grant of $500 to the Huron
Country Playhouse near Grand.
Bend.
The request for financial
assistance, was made by
Playhouse n director Benson
Tuckey of Exeter.
-Council, Li granting the aid,,
suggested . Playhouse officials
use local talent in some of their
productions.
CMHC approves
loan for Zurich
rest home units
• Central Mortgage and Housing
Corporation today announced the
, approval of a loan and con-
tribution totalling $462,665 to the
Blue Water Rest Home in Zurich.
The ' funds will be 'used to
construct a 24=unit senior citizens
apartment complex on •the
western side of the Village of
Zurich.
The units, all one -bedroom
apartments in a - one storey
b.uilding, 'will be rented to low
income senior citizens. Meals and
nursing care will be provided, if
required, through the resources
of , ,an existing nursing home
located adjacent to the property.
'The loan and contribuVion are
made under the non-profit
provisions of the National
Housing Act' and are at an in-
terest rate of eight percent over a
term dP'f fifty years.
