I could go on and on about the high quality of soccer, savvy and steadiness of your team and it would sound grgssly . exaggerated.,. but believe me, 'it's the straight goods when I lay on *praise. United shone like they oughta because they've got the talent. Keep on sockin', boys... you belong on top! • Many thanks to the fans who trekked down to encourage the team in St. Thomas_ their rootin' and ravirt was also of a very high calibre!, You're the best, fans! There's one young lady who will never be awarded. a"Rowdy Rooter"because she is never rowdy or loud, but she is staunchly loyal to Goderich United and can always be spotted on the sidelines, quiet and intent. Helen MacDonald is one of our "sweeties"... a really great gal who deserves credit for her own special brand of rooting! (;Actually, she makes the rest of us look like freaked -out cheerleaders!) Now, back to the guys: Firstly, "the Player -of -the - Day" is Harold Refflinghaus who set up namerous inventive plays and ' Orformed with expertise and quick-wittedriess. "Danke", Harry! "Sportsman - of -the -game" is "the 'Dude", Dave Graf_ he put out one hundred percent and' was an added bonus on the forward line. His dexterity is forever an amazement! This `weeks "Super Jock" is old "Mighty Mouth" himself: little Rolf Gottschalk! His presence on the field was strong, decisive and he com- pletely nullified any and all opponents. .The "Showmanship Award" ..goes out with awe, to "the General", Howie Gottschalk who was uncaring . and un - fearing 'of personal safety and dove, crawled and tumbled himself inside out to -keep the Goderich zone safe from in- trusion. Wouldn't it be quicker and simpler just to step in front of a speeding train, Hbrst?? "Foxy Specials" go out to Clare Sager and Pete Teichert who were especially supportive and produced some super plays and defensive moves. Love y'all, United! ! Last week's Police Falcons game against the London Hungarian 'B's, ended in a 4-2 "win for the Falcons,.Qreat eh? Mike Sully, 'started off the scorling sweepstakes with Brian McKenzie following suit and Rick "the Toe" Fisher whip- ping two fab goals ons the op- position. They played a fast - paced and steady match and their confidence was evident in each play. Pete Herlufsen is an un- deniable asset on the defense line and he's a true team man. Way to be "B'S"! They play this weekend at. 1 PM against Easy Driving. United plays on the same day, Sunday, at 3 PM versus the Portugese 'B's'. So come on down down td the field and se some, hair-raising, heart -wrenching, ner}e- r•acking action. (It's a peaceful way to spend a Sunday!! ) Try us... you'll like us!! United we stand -Forever. God bless, keep fit and stay happy. Love ya much, Foxy Mama. HELPUS OUT! G.M.H.A: needs ice time to rent at economical rates from neighbouring arena,s. Ice time is paramount to Goderich Minor Hockey.
