St, Paul's United Church, Sarnia, was decorated with
baskets of pink and mauve gladioli for a candlelight, double
ring'ceremony on August 9, 1975, whir Susan Lynn Sparks,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mac ,A, Sparks and Carl John
Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Black, all of Sarnia,
were united in marriage by the Rev. R.L. McConnell.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of
white organza with alecon lace inserts highlighted with
organza fluted ruffling and dotted with pearls. The sheer
puffed sleeves,,of l-er gown were trimmed with the alecon
lace. Her train which flowed from the waist was accented
with the same fluting. Her Juliet cap also dotted with pearls
held a fingertip chapel veil trimmed with alecon lace. She
carried a bouquet of pink roses with Sprays of baby's breath'.
Mrs. Lynn Ravesi, of Toronto, attended her friend as
matron of honor. Bridesmaidswere Mrs. Linda 'Wilson of
Corunna, friend of the bride; Miss Sheri Mitchell and Miss
Susan $lack. of Sarnia, sisters of the groom,; and cousins of
the bride, Miss Martha Cook of Tillsonburg and Miss
Lucinda Roebuck of Kitchener.
They all wore identical pink printed gowns of French peau
de soie, with matching jackets and picture hats. They.,
carried bouquets of mauve and pink varigated carnations'
with white baby's breath and pink ribbons.
Paul Mitchell,' brother of the groom, was`best man for the
ceremony, while guests were ushered by Dave Lockhart of
Sarnia, Robert Mayen of Sarnia and Jamie Gowrie, of
Brigden, all friends of the groom and by -Don -Matheson of
Scarborough. and Peter Sparks of Sarnia,, cousin of the bride.
Tommy Sutherland, friend of th'e groom, was ringbearer.
He carried the rings} on a pillow of white peau 'de soie
trimmed with lace and satin ribbons.
Soloist Keith Williamson, accompanied by Howard Brown,
organist of the church, sang "The Wedding" before the
ceremony and "Song. of Joy" during the signing of the
register.
The wedding receptign was held at the Sarnia 'Police
Association Mall, London Road, where the guests were
received by the bride's mother, wearing a blue floor -length
gown in polyester knit with matching jacket and silver
accessories: She wore a pink orchid corsage.,., She was
assisted by the groom's mother, wearing a three-piece floor -
length blue gown of silk orlon with silver accessories. She
wore r white orchid corsage.
For their wedding trip to Kingston and the Eastern United
States, the bride chose a tan jumpsuit with brown and peach
accessories and a green orchid corsage.
On their return, the couple will reside in°Kingston, where
they will be attending Queen'stJniversity. Susan will bean
the Bachelor of Education program and Carl in the Master's
program in:Urban and Regional Planning.
Guests 'were present from Toronto, Strathroy, 'Florida,
Ottawa,, Kitchener, Goderich, Dundas, Wingham, %illson-
burg, London, Ohio and Sarnia:
Prior to her marriage the bride was entertained at
showers by her Aunt, Mrs. Ross Sparks, Sarnia; her friend
Mrs. Joe Ravesi, Corruna; and a new daughter party and
tea at the' homegof the groom's mother, Betty Dee Black,
Sarnia.

Mrs, Evers' demonstrated
how to make the bread ,and
knead and how to shape the
dough and then freeze it. The
dough will be kept frozen until
the next meeting.

At a wedding in St. James .Anglican Church, Sarnia,
Robert Basil Hull exchanged 'o
vows arid rings with Linda
Louise Lawrence. . -
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Lawrence,
Sarnia. The groom is the only son 'of Mr. and Mrs. Basil
Hall, 315 Lakeside Drive, Goderich.
Given in marriage by hey father, the bride chose a gown of
silk _organza with A-!ine circular skirt. Chantilly lace
adorned the yoke, sleeves and skirt A frill enhanced the
bodice and hemline. Her cathedrahlength veil was encircled
with chantilly iace and was held by a lace camelot cap which,
was highlighted by a how and seed pearls. She carried a
bouquet of pink roses, carnations, white daisies and baby's
breath.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs, Gale
Hayter, Forest, wearing a gown of pale yellow flocked
organza, featuring a sweetheart neckline, short gathered
sleeves, full skirt with deep hemline flounce.
Bridesmaids were Pauline Hall and Shirley Hall, sistersof
the groom.' Pauline was gowned in pale green flocked'
organza and Shirley in white organza flocked with yellow
rosebuds and green leaves. The gowns , were styled iden-
tically to the gown w.orn by the matron of honor.
All the bridal attendants carried bouquets of green and
Yellow carnations, white daisies and baby's breath.
Groornsman.was Rolf Hagen, Penetanguishene, foj-merly
of Goderich, friend.,af,thegroom.
Guests were ushered by Peter Oliver. Toronto; and David
Lawrence and John Lawrence, brothers of the bride. -
The groom and male attendants .were attired in 'navy
tuxedos and white t uffled shirts. ,
During the signing of the register, Mrs. Nettie Blainey
played her guitar and,sarig "Weare Just Beginning to Live" -
and "Mother and Father's Prayer".
Miss Molly McDonald, London, eorsin of the groom,,,,,___
presented the, bride with a good luck horseshoe as she
descended from the church.
A reception followed at the Holiday Inn, Sarnia. Receiving
the guests were the bride's mother wearing a floor -length
gown of pink georgette and a.corsage'of white:roses. The
groom"s mother selected a floor -length gown of blue floral
organza. She wore a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses.
For travelling to Nashville, Tennessee, the bride chose a
green soft silk dress with matching cape and accessories.
The bride was honoured at several sho»vers.;in Sarnia as
well as -one.. in Goderich given by. sisters of the groom,
Pauline and Schirley Hall.
The couple will "reside in Sarnia.

Captain Grace Herber and Captain Margaret McKenzie
officiated at the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brak on
Saturday, August 30 in The Salvation Army Citadel,
Goderich. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Proctor, Goderich, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Bas Brok; RR,,. 2 Paisley. The happy young couple are
residing in Goderich. .
