Sponsored by the Huron Plow- men's Association, the event in- cluded the queen of the furrow , competition and 10 classes of tractor draws. Linda Newton of Wroxeter was' chosen Queen .of the Furrow. The Queen had already shown the judges and visitors at the match that she c,ould handle a plow so she took up the end of a two man saw to try her hand at log cutting. Warden 'Anson McKinleysteps into his furrow behind the walking plow as ,one of the contestants in the businessman's competition at the Huron County Plowing Match Saturday. The warden manned the plow for the first time in hig life and had his work judged by his brother Huron MY Robert McKinley. Arnold Young drove the team which was also supplied by him. (staff -photo) Gary Kerr -took the reins of Arnold Young's team of heavy horses to thrill the childrettgathered at the match with a ride about the farm on an old fashioned freight wagon.
