Red -roses and white.Gypsophila with;trailing ivy in gold
candelabras enhanced with tall white tapers , formed the
setting for tht' candlelight wedding on August 9, at 6 p.m.
when Janis E Laine, daughter ofMr. and Mrs. Allister Green
of Goderich, became the bride of Edward James CraWford,

Crawford, of 'Oshawa,. Rev, Gardner performed the double
'ring ceremony in North Street United Church, Goderich.
Music was provided by Lorne Potterer who also ac-
companied the.,soloist, Mr. Grant Ellison, who sang "The
Wedding Pr'a t,t.''� •before the ceremony and "Ave .Maria"
during the signingr;f the register.
, Given in marriage by -her parents, the bride chose a floor.-
length
loor-length gown of white French crepe featuring a high ruffled
neckline, short puffed sleeves and yolk of Venetian lace. Her
cathedral train. gathered into the back yolk of her gown, was
of the sarpe,,lace. Her short two-tiered French ill-usion veil
was. ,field in place by .,a floral, `headband. She carried a
Colonial bouquet of red sweetheart roses, white 'daisies,
• stephanotis, haby's breath, and trailing myrtle,
The matron of honor was Mrs. Glenis King of Clinton,
cous-fn of the bride. Marie Hibbert of Goderich, friend of the
bride, Mrs. Cheryl Crawford, of Goderich, sister -in-law of
the, groom, and Lynn Crawford of Stratford, sister .of the
gr=oorn, were the bridesmaids, •• •
,The girls were identically • gowned in • pinafore -style
dresses of red and wh„itt' polyester gingham featuring square
necklines, ruffles over the sleeve lines aritd ruffle'dhernlines.
Waistlines were accented with inset sashes of the same
material extending into large bows at the back. They wore
• white straw hats with 'thatching gingham trim and large
white heads, a gift from the bride. Each of them carried a
long-stemmed red Duchess rose accented with a -red and
white streamered gingham bow.
Flowergirls were Kim and Vicki Bruinsma, nieces of the
bride, wearing dresses similar ,to the bridesmaids . They
wore matching hair ribbons and carried white baskets o•f
flowers similar to the bride's bouquet.
The groom was attended by Harold Kremkau of, Stratford,
friend of the groom. Guests were ushered fiy,Terry Crawford
of Stratford and Tom Crawford of Goderich, brothers of the
gr m, 'and Murray Gibson of Wroxeter, cousin of the bride.
The groom and reale attendante were attired in white single-
breasted jackets, white ruffled shirts trimmed with black
and black pants.,The groom wore' a red rose and his at-
tendants wore red carnations for their boutonnieres.
The'church hall was decorated with•red and white gladioli
streamers and bells for a buffet supper for guests from
' London, Clifford, Gorrie, St.' Thomas, Clinton, Oshawa,
Stratford, Wroxeter, Owen Sound. Burlington, Guelph, and
Toronto. • - a
A three -tiered wedding cake decorated in red and white
and bordered by red roses formed the, centrepiece of the
bride's 'table. The guests tables. were decorated with sweet
' peas. Mr. Lloyd Weir of Toronto, uncle of the bride was
master of ceremonies. Harold Kremkau proposed a toast.to
the bride and the groom replied. After the cutting of the
cake, Mr, Frank Bennett of London, cousin of the bride,'
..spoke briefly.
- A reception followed at the Maitland Country Club.
Receiving the guests- were the bride's mother” wearing a
sl'teeveless gown of American Beauty silk chiffon with
matching cape and white accessories. ,She wore a corsage of
pink si eetheart roses. The groom's mother wore a corn-
flower blue sleeveless crepe dress with a matching lace
jacket and white accessories. She also wore a corsage of
pink sweetheart roses and white stephanotis in her -hair,
For travelling to Grand Bahama Island the bride chose a
floral beige silk jersey gown featuring shirred bodice and
matching cape with ruffled edging. She wore white ac-
cessories and a wrist bouquet of pink carnation's. The groom
wore a beige.leisure suit with green figured shirt.
The couple are residing in Stratford.
Prior to her marriage the bride was the recipient of many
lovely gifts' received at showers held in her honor. Neigh-
bours and friends were entertained at the' home of Mrs.
Beatrice Sparling, when she and Mrs, Marg Greig were
'hostesses. A• miscellaneous shower was held at Mrs, Glenis
King's of Clinton and Miss 'Jane Clarity was hostess at a
• shower •at�her home for school chunis of the bride. A
rrliscellaneous Jack andzJ4II shower and barbecue was held
by the groom's mother in Stratford'
Prior to the wedding, the bride's mother entertained the
waitresses ata barbecue at her hr"lme.
A rehearsal party was held by the groom's mother at the
hermeof Mr. and Mrs. Morris McMillan,•of Goderich.

The couple were married, ir,, a do.ible-ring
ceremony, Satu'rd'ay, August 9 at Benmiller tl nitedI
Church,°Benmiller.• The groom is the son of 1VI •-and'
Mrs. Wilmer Hardy of Goderich. The bride Is' the .
daughter of Robert Aberhart of Kapuskasing, and
the late Jean'Aberhart.- I

with wedding music provided by ' Mrs, Leonard
Warr,
Given 'in marriage by her father, -The bride -
selected a gown•of white polyester crepe designed-
on princess - lines. The dress featured a' full,
gathered skirt, trimmed with ruffles edged in
gathered chiffon and lace trim. The short puff
sleeves were gathered at a narrow band and a lace
•trimmed ruffle adorned the rounded neckline. The
bodice tied in a large bow at"tile back and the gown
• was accented by pure white daisy appliques. For
her "something old",the bride' wore a gold heart -
shaped heirloom locket which .belonged to her
maternal grandrhother. A beaded and lace -
trimmed headpiece held her tiered, fingertip -length
veil, edged with daisy lace. A nosegay arrangement
of white daisy Mums, yellow sweetheart roses, pale
green miniature carnations, white baby's breathe
• and green,fern, trimmed with white lace ribbon,
complemented the bridal ensemble.
As matron of honor, the groom's sister-in-law,
Johanna Hardy of Two Hills, Alberta, wore,a for-
mal -length" gown of green and white gingham
,, prilyester dotted swiss over a lining of mint green
lyester. .The dress featured short gathered
s eeves and a low, square neckline. Joining the full
skirt at a natural waistline, the daisy-trimmedl
bodice ied at the back.
Brid smaids Ruth Anne Poolton of Kapuskasing,
and A ele Turcotte of Toronto, were ' gowned
similarly to the matron of honor but their bodices
were. accented by white cotton eyelet over mint
Been polyester, featuring daisy trim,
They, all wore dainty white beaded pendants on a
gold chain, gifts of,the bride. In their hair, the girls
wore white daisies with white baby's breath,
enhanced,by a bow fashioned of green bridal rib-
bon., All carried identical nosegays of yellow
daisies, white daisies andwhite baby's breath with
streamers of green bridal ribbon.
Acting as his brother's best man was John Hardy,
Two Hills, Alberta. Ushers were Charles Aberhart
of London, cousin of the ,bride, and Ron Baer,
Goderich. The groom and his attendants wore
tuxedos of dark green•.
The reception was at The Little Inn, .Bayfield,
where bud vases of white daisies complemented the
green,, and yellow wedding decor. Beatrice
• Aberhart, the bride's paternal aunteceived the
guests in a formal length,. long-sleeved gown of
apricot chiffon over polyester crepe, complemented
by a corsage of yellow roses and pale green. car
nations. She was assisted by Mrs. Evelyn Hardy,
who selected a formal length, short -sleeved gown of
shades of green polyester knit. She'wore a corsage
of yellow 'roses.
The master of ceremonies was Ford ,Rupert,
Kapuskasing, '
For their honeymoon trip t6 Niagara Falls, the
bride selected a dress of pale peach knit flowered
with green and gold. The pockets, short sleeves and"
sweetheart neckline were edged with`. white laee.
Beige and gold accessories and a corsage of white
daisies and green fern- completed her 'travelling
outfit,
Guests came from Two Hills, Alberta, as well as
Kapuskasing, Toronto, - Unionville, London,
Ilderton, Blyth, , Auburn, Clinton, Goderich and
Barrie,
, The groom is a journalism graduate of Conestoga
College of Applied Arts •and Technology and is
employed at Leader Publications Ltd, in Dresden.
The „bride is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier
University and Althouse College of Education and is
presently teaching at Dresden Area Central School,
