Nostalgia night at the MacKinnon and Durst before
Goderich weekend ' fastbair 'the Bissett defence tighteiaed to
tournament was entertaining
for the fans and in some cases
surprising. The Goderich
Bissetts, a 1962 intermediate A
provincial finalist team,
donned the spikes against the
younger tournament executive
team and showed some of the
style that carried, them to the
finals. • = '
The, Bissetts haven't been in,
action • together since their
championship season in 1962
and despite some expanded
girths and -thinner legs they
howed they have not lost their
talents over the years.
The Bissets started Stan
Doherty on. the [round and the
tournament execs caught him

took advantage of some Bissett
error's and stole home to notch
the last exec run in the fourth.
And from there it was all

Ron Carter swung the same
bat he carried to.th`e playoffs 13
years ago and went three for
four at the plate.
Tournament executive „im-
port Gerry 'Weir, sporting a
muscle shirt•,at second, gave up
his umping duties to don the
cleats and found out how it feels
to be called out on a close play.
Weir twice was ...called for
leaving the batter's box on foul

suffer . after coming out of
retirement. Playing good
baseball is like riding a' bike.

arm down across their chest to
their opposite hip as they spin
away from the play crying
"ou000t".
.The umpires work in pairs
like a pitcher and catcher. They
have signals between each
other so that the base men and'
the' plate lump are informed on
plays. If a batter attempts to
bunt and checks his swing the
plate ump Will glance to the
base man for signal to see if
the swing carried enough to call
a strike. The time interval is so
short the batter thinks that the
plate man saw ,the play and
made, the call h'imself.
The" devotion the Ingersoll
umpires have towards their job
adds a .professionalism to an
amateur game that greatly
improves the quality of the
contest. They devote the same
energy to the.' game- that the
players do and after a tough
game they also follow the
players in congratulations.
While the players are on the
infield congratulating one
;another the umpires are at
home plate shaking each
other''s ' hands dvising •one --
another of agoodgame.

Side Two of "To Jesus With
Love" , includes three 'Songs
dealing with Christ's second
coming, Two of the- songs ex-
press concern for those people
who actually, believe in the
second coming but do nothing
to prepare themselves.
In "Plenty of -Time'', Sara
Dalesings.
"I walked , on down life's
pathway, living as I wished td
live ... Plenty ,of time to decide
where I'm bound ,.. Before 'I
knew what had happened,,life's
scenes had passed away, and
millions stood before God's
'throne, 'fpr it was judgment
day. `. .
In the Larry Norman song, "I
Wish We'd All Been Ready,"
the composer tries to decide
what the last day might be.like.
Sara Dale sings,
"Man and wife asleep in bed,
she hears a sound and turns her
head. He's, gone.., Two men
walking up a hill, One ,,disap-
pears. One left standing still
I .wish we'd all been ready ...
The Son has come and you've
been left behind."
The 'thoughts may • be
somewhat frightening, perhaps
unreal, but scripture makes the
message frank and clear He
that believeth and is baptii.ed
shall be saved; but he that
'believeth not shall be damned-

Most of us are pro
crastimators at one time or
another but there is one
decision that should not he put
off until tomorrow - the decision
to believe and be baptized "for
the Son of man is coming at an
unexpected hour (Luke 4,2:40
