Nickel Carnival set for today
Thi$ iso the fourth week of our
playground »program. We have
two age groups Juniors from
six to eight years,of age, and.
seniors from nine ,to twelve.
years of age. The Juniors meet
at Cambridge, Robertson
School, and Judith Gooderham
Pool, while the Seniors use a
room at the Arena for crafts
and quiet ,games, 'and the
centre of the race track for
active games,
'• After registration the -first
day, the safety rules and
policies were set out :for tthe
children and games were
played.' The rest of the week the
- Children enjoyed baseball,
:charades, quiet games, some
!crafts to be shown, at the Art
Mart, and a Hippie Day with a
^walk around the Square.
Rollerskating filled one 'af-
ternoon with activity;
The second week both groups
met at the Arena for a "50's
Dance", where they won prizes
for the TOist and Spot,Dancel
and were served freshie. They
also practiced for a talent show
to be presented the* third week.
"Debbie Meets The Monster"
was presented•at the Square by
Tomorrow's Eve, a theatrical
group from Torbnto and was
thoroughly enjoyed by all
presents - An afternoon was
spent at the Art Mart. Games
were played, songs' Were sung,
and general activities'filled the
rest of the week.
Week' number three was
really full of interesting
pr.Qgran is. The Talent Show
was a' big success. A Playday
was held at Walkerton with all
the Playgrounds from the Lake ..
Hurox lone' -participating and
our children did Very well in the
games. There was a demon-
_ strtttion by two Frisbee
'Champs ; and a trip to a farm -at
• Carlow where everyone went
on a •hay ride, plus the usual
games, arts and crafts. •

Government will paya greater
share of the cost of tourism

associations in the' southern
sections of the porovince.
The new cost sharing
program has a revised
government grant ratio of 60-40
which will be in effect for one
• year retroactive, to April, .1 ,
1975. Previously the govern-
ment ,..shared "the ''tourist
promotion cost,on a 50-50 basis
with the travel associations.
