-up yet because the best part of
the town's birthday parW is yet
to Come! ti
The lively pace of centennial
continues this evening at the
Clinton' Community Park
grandstand when'' the senior
citizens present their "Musical
'Evening," 1•i„ Master of
-ceremonies, Albert Furtney of
London, . will introduce you to
the melodic 'talents of tin-
tinnabulist (one who plays' a
"tune. on a set of bells) Mrs. R.C.
Moffatt of Guelph, and the toe -
tapping strains of the Stratford
Festival City Senior Citizens
Rtythm Band.
Tomorrow, an historical
plaque marking the founding of
the town willbe unveiled on the
lawn

The , plaque, which is
erected by the Ontario Heritage
Foundation, will be unveiled by
Jack Gibbings of Stratford; a
great-grandson of Jonas
Gibbings one of the first set-
tlers to come to Clinton.
Then in the evening,
beginning at 9:30 you can catch
the ball. inside the Arena - the
• 'Down Memory Lane"
Costume Ball that is. Dress up
'in the costume of your favourite
era and come` out for ballroom
dancing to the. Chris'% Black
Orchestra. Tickets are $5 per
person but you'd better hurry
• because they're going fast. -
If ballroom dancing isn't
"your thing," h teenage dance,
begins in ' the .Central Huron
-.Secondary, School 'auditorium
at 9 -p.m.

comes the calendar of Satur='
day's events.
From -9,12 Saturday morning,
it's Back to School as former
students assemble by decades
(years they ,attended classes)
at Central Huron Seconeary,
Sch'ooi for coffee and donuts,
but mostly • t8' find out what
'happened—to _ good old Larry
who allays used to bring l ,s
pet frog to class and stare the
teacher.. and to little Mary Who
always made you giggle during
o' math class.
At'1 p.m. find yourself a nice
comfortable spot along Clin-
ton's main streets and watch
the parade pass by. Rumours
say the procession, which will
be led by Canada's own pied
piper, Bobby Gimby and 50
singing school children, will
last almost three hours and will
include a number of top
marching bands. ' An added•.
touch of elegance to the par
will be the.presence of 11 -year
old. Normande Jacques from
Blind River, Ontario, „the
reigning Miss Dominion of
Canada:
• The' parade begins at Per-
cival Street, moves' south on
East Street to Victoria, north
on Victoria Street through the
town's business section to
Princess. Street, Here - the
procession winds its‘' way, west
-n Princess to Shipley. Street
Where it will proceed north to
John, Turning east onto John it
will move through to Whitehead
Street, turn south on Beech
continue on to Mill°to end at the
Community Park grounds
which Will then host a 'band
tattoo .composed ,of -the bands
which participated " in the
parade.
The real birthday', party,
complete with .a beef barbecue'
and birthday cake, takes place
in the park from 5-7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $3.50 for adults and
$2.50 for the kids. While -you
dine, Bobby Gimby and- his
little school aged friends along
with. local talent will entertain
you in front of the.,grandstand
from 5,4Q-$:30.
After the - naagic hour of 7-:30,
a lot of Clinton ladies. will have
their clean shaven boyfriends,
husbands and• brothers,r who
they had given up fo lost,
return to them with the final
judging of 'the beard growing
contest. �t

As the Clinton monster bingo
series draws to a close, the
crowds have» been • getting
bigger and the jackpots
climbing higher.
LaSt, Monday night, 510
'people attended the bingo
games at the Clinton Arena and
raised $1;232 for the repair of
the town's swimming pool.
The big *Winners of the
evening were Rose McAdams
ok Clinton and Alma Bissett of
Ooderich who eadh took home
half of the$1000 jackpot.
In the three special 'games:
Brucefield's Marian Laws won
$211; Freida Slade of Clinton
won $207; and E,lma Ryan won
This Monday night the '
Clinton Junior Hockey's Share -
