This Bill. imposes a terXiporary freeze on prices , charged- for , petroleum '--- products, \used for 'heating or o 5erating vehicles, sold ' in Ontario. The price fixed is that prevailing on, -the 23rd `June,, 1975, subje.x, only to the in- crease due- 0:73'4 -flanges in the • Fegeral Excise tax,. The freeze, is for three months, subject .to limit extension by the Li,etite&ant,-Governor in Council if the Assembly is recessed o not in session. . Premier William Davis in his statement to th,e Legislature.. said'that the Government also proposes to appoint a one-man royal commission 'to marshall facts `and, as. necessary,' to make, - felevant recom- mendations. This. program will form:the first part of the farm income, stabilization" thrust a$ •�an�__ ,nounced ,in "the Budget speech onApriti,".1975. • The two objectives of this program., . is to stabilize ,the income of recognized beef calf producers in Ontario , and to encourage a' continuing steady supply ' of Ontario - produced bed.' ti' Mr. Wirilcler•stressed'that the program is long term in scope with the mayor emphasis being on the benefits which -will a crue .to' those producers 'whd plan •'to continue in beef calf production over several years. An income stabilization fund will be .Created whereby all recognized,beef"calf prbducers in- Ontario will qualify for this joint producer-go,Kernment program on a volunta y basis,. for 20,1 initial five year period.
