However, close to 70 men were present for Men's Nighton June 10th. . Low gross for the -night went to Leroy Bedour, a familiar name around the Clubhouse. Congratulations Leroy!, Other - winners included: first flight, Denis Lassaline, Brian Reeve, and GregHansen; second flight, Leon Gaynor, Mark Lassaline, Marcel Richard, Bill Fritzley, Denis Le Brun, Clark Chisholmn,,. Mike Drennan, George Bolton Tim O'Brien, . and Fred Armstrong; and third flight,'; Cliff Kennedy, Dave Haylow, Bud Sheardown, -Mike Thomas, Bill Mclsaac, George Williams, Mark McKenny, Ray Cook and Paul Dockstader. On Thursday, June 12th we had our biggest Ladies' Night crowd yet this season, despite • the rain. Low net for the night went ,to Pat Dockstader who feels that her golf game has markedly improved this year • after four years of golfing. Congratulations ' Pat! Hidden hole winner was Jeanne Sen. o . Congratulations Jeanne!. After their golf game,. the ladies enjoyed a social get together andsome bingo games in the Sunset lounge. This Thursday night, June ,-.19•thrt-he:ladies wi11--havea fun golf two ball and the following Thursday, June Nth, there will be a pot luck dinner. So, don't forget ladies, come out for. some good food and a good time! • Last Wednesday, June 11th, some o: the, Sunset ladies travelled to the 'Maitland Country Club to play Interclub golf. Some of our winners were: Shirley Buechler, Pat Dockstader, Elaine Phillips and Jane Kerr, Congratulations ladies! ° 1 On Saturday, June 14th there were two tournaments at the Sunset. The Cljnton hockey referees and the Goderich Assessment, Office employees were the participants. The 17. men from the assessment office barbecued their own steaks for supper. Winners for the day were: low gross, Greg Hansen; low net, Barry Eastwood; second low gross, Cain MacDonald; second low net, Paul Corriveau; and hidden score, Larry Hough, • Don't forget the mixed Scotch two ball this Sunday, June 22nd. It will be followed by a pot luck supper and everyone is welcome. Just sign the' list ,in the Clubhouse some time this week. Once the beginner is in position with the golf club,"he' might wonder how to start the club back. Just draw it straight back as far as is comfortable and let nature take its course. Don't turn awa; just draw it back -but keep your weight squarely on both feetand try .,not 'to...._.sway _back-, with it yourself. Paul cracked a fine tee shot on the 210 yard_ tenth hole using a three iron and beat the stiff cross wind Tuesday evening for a hole in one. Paul, out for a round at the Sunset Golf and Country Club which he owns and operates, was golfing with Tony Bedard who got a hole in one on the tenth last year. Paul has been golfing 21, years, and said it was a very strange feeling to complete the golfer's dream. (staff photo ) • The Huron Trail Riders Saddle Club joined the 411 Horse Club on Sunday for a ten ° mile ride through • the Hullett Wildlife Management Area. . The ride attracted 31 horses. and riders from the two organizations. The ten -mile trek took the participants through the wildlife area and included :One river crossing. The crossing provided no difficulty for the 'horsemen and all 31 finished. Prizes were awarded by the Huron.. 'trail club for 4H members who demonstrated. their knowledge of horses and trail safety. Viki Steepe aboard Coco went off with top honors, Marguerite Snell was awarded , second place with her horse Amiyo and Barb Potter rode Bar's Red Snip to a third place finish.
