•-The Goderich Police Com-

resolution calling for the
amendment of the Bail Reforrn
Act as recommended by the
Association of Municipal Police
Governihg Authorities at its
monthly meeting last Tuesday.
The. Board of CommiSsioners
of Police of the city of Windsor
approved a re'solutipn to reform
the bail act in February of this
year and 'submitted it to the
Federal Minister of Justice,
Mr. Otto Lang.
The resolution for reform by
the Windsor commission
stemmed from the facts that
during 1974, 90 perSens charged
with serious criminal offences
and released under the terms of
tne Bail Reform Act, com-
mitted a total of 323 subsequent
offences .before the trial for the
original offence.
Also the number of sub-
sequent offences ranged from
one to as many as 15 separate '
occasions per individual. A
report from the Association of
Municipal Police Governing
Authqrities stated that abuse of
the Bail Reform Act is a

if something more unique could
be done to Tho Square to add to
its natural beauty. She pointed
out that by spendingo$16,600 on
a plan and then adding costs on
top of that seemed rather steep
'for any municiPality.
"Besides you can't force the
plan on the owners of the land
and building," she said.
Council aised the question
about the plans worked out
between the Goderich
businessmen and county
planner Nick Hill. Deputy -
reeve Clifford said there was
not a great deal Of .difference
between the two except the cost
for R.T.R. He said that the Hill
plan, which cpsts nothing' to
produce, dealt- with the entire
core area and concerned
buildings, trees, gardert,$,
street lights, furniture and even
included maintenance of the
area after construction was
complete.
Reeve Stan Profit agreed
with the idea of doing the

people already on the payroll

that the park was already a
