candelabra filled with candles,
white ' daisies and orange
gladioli for. the wedding'May 10'
at which the Rev. Ralph King
heard the , wedding vows of
Cheryl Elizabeth Youngblut
and Douglas Herbert Smith,
both of Goderich. •
Organist Tor the double -ring
ceremony was Lorne Dotterer.
Soloist was Sue Smith who sang
There Is Love.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr.' and Mrs. Stan-Youngblut,
Goderich. Mr. and Mrs. Vern
Smith are the parents of the
groom.
The bride was escorted to the
altar by her father. She wore a
full-length dress of white
polyester interlock with at-
tached train, trimmed with
lace . rosets •and tastefully
designed, fashioned ...by . the
bride, Ie>r,cap .held, a shoulder-- µw
length veil trimmed with lace
rosets and pearls, and was
designed and, made by the
bride's grandmother, Mrs.
John Fairservice, Blyth. She
carried a nosegay bouquet of
talisman roses, miniature
white carnations, stephanotis
and baby's breath.
Maid of honor was Jan
Ainslie, a friend of the bride,
Goderich, Bridesmaids . were
Mrs. Audrey Smith, a friend of
the bride, Sarnia, and Jane
Smith, sister of the groom,
Goderich. _They were gowned
alike' in, full-length coral
'polyester satin halter dresses
with • matching jackets. They
carried nosegay clusters of
white daisies and tinted baby's
breath.
Flowergirls were Stacy
Youngblut, niece of the bride,
Goderich, and Tammy Smith,
niece of the groom, Kitchener.
They wore full-length dresses
.of white cotton, dotted with
coral flowers and trimmed with
coral ribbon and lace. The little
girls had matching daisies and
ribbons in their hair and
carried miniature nosegay
clusters, smaller versions of
the flowers carried -by the
senior attendants.
Groomsman was Brian
Smith, a friend of the groom,
Sarnia. -Dare Smith, the
groom's brother .of -Kitchener,
and Robert Youngblut, the
bride's '11rother of Goderich,
ushered guests.'
The wedding reception was at.
The: White Carnation. The
bride's mother wore a full-
length dress of sea.foam green
polyester interlock with
matching jacket and a corsage
of talisman roses. The groom's
mother selected a full-length
blue and pink chiffon dress with
a corsage of pink roses.
For travelling to Cape Cod,
Mass., the bride changed to a
two-piece .shrimp colored suit
with matching flowered blouse
and a corsage of daisies.
They are living in Goderich.
Showers were given in the
bride's honor by Marie Lam-
bley of Windsor, Mrs. Audrey
Smith and Jane Smith, Mrs.
Teen Bannister and Mrs. Bill
Beacom of Goderich; and Mrs.
Tom Chuter of Clinton. A bridal
luncheon was given by Miss
Jan Ainslie and -Mrs. Brian
Ainslie.
"-Mr. and' Mrs. ' Vern With
hosted a rehearsal party on the
eve of the wedding.
Daughter of former
resident wed in Ottawa
Dr. A.W. Currie officiated for
the. c,andlelight service in' St.
Andrew's Pres'byteria'n
Church, Ottawa, Saturday,
May 10 when Edward Havelock
Creighton, Ottawa, exchanged
vows and rings with Jlnet Lynn
Thomson, also of Ottawa.
The' bride is the daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. W.K. Thomson,
Ottawa, formerly of Goderich.
Mr. and Mrs. John Creighton of
Ottawa are the parents of the
groom.
Wedding music was supplied
by Carman Milligan at the
organ and Pipe Major Dave
Benyon who played the pipes
during the signing of the
register. -
The bride wore a white satin
gown with matching train and a
shoulder -length veil. She
carried a cascade bouquet of
fugi mums and pink rose buds.
Mrs. Alan-, Wright, sister- of
the bride, Sault Ste. Marie, was
matron of honor in a floor-
' length pale pink crepe ,jersey
gown with a floVvered sheer
cape: Her flowers were a
bouquet of white mums and
..'" roses.
Bridesmaid Miss Eleanor
Rice of Kingston was gowned
idptically to the matronof
honor.
Groomsman was John
McAngus, Ottawa. Allan
Creighton, brother of the
groom, Ottawa, ushered
guests. .
The wedding reception was
held at the bride's home where
the decor was white and pink
mums and lighted tapers. The
bride's mother wore a floral
•
gold sheer floor -length gown
- with a corsage of ivory rose
buds. The groom's mother was
attired in a turquoise sheer
floor -length gown with a -cor-
sage of yellow rosebuds.
Mrs. James F. Thomson,
Goderich, attended her '
grandda'ughter's wedding
wearing a'floor-length gown of
blue crepe and a corsage of
pink carnations.
Following the' wedding, the
bride -changed to a pale blue
Moor -length gown with a floor -
length ivory cape and hood for
a wedding trip to Nova Scotia.
The newlyweds are residing
in Ottawa.'
A kitchen and bathroom
shower was given in the bride's
honor by her cousin, Mrs. Nan
Orser.
